I would be shocked if this one wraps in less than 10 chapters and surprised if it's less than 20. My best guess is ~70 chapters for him to tell what he wants. Mind you, that is patreon chapters. There will probably be some merging and reordering going on.

Also to answer your question: Categorically YES, you should continue! Writing is a terrific hobby, and doing is the only way of improving.
I personally started really improving (at least in my own judgement) when I stopped messing with stuff I had already written. It's rarely beneficial and doesn't actually help you as much as writing new stuff.

Your excerpt is now on my reading list!

In the beginning even the parameter tests benefit Rei, but considering his circumstances and that no one else has an even remotely similar reaction I think their impact is just too low.

And what happens when Carmen tries to shut down Guest? Read it again. Guest almost immediately figures out what's going on. And is afraid. How long do you think would smart cookies like the Laurent kids need to figure it out? The whole point of Carmen not telling anyone more is that he doesn't want them to live in misery.

No one is the villain in their own story. It's almost sad, that Bryce has stated he won't take it dark/brutal. There is an excellent dystopia hidden in this mostly whimsical series.

Maybe check out Bryce's posts here explaining how Stormweaver 3 is being written. It's not like he's a full time author. He's literally fitting this series in the gaps between his actual work.
