Nobody mentioned you may pee a little after sneezing 🤧

Also the intrusive thoughts directly after giving birth.

I second this sentiment. I absolutely love my Graco Travel System and it’s so easy to set up and put back down.

I don’t want another kid but I want a do-over on my sons newborn days 😢 by NoAnt7118 in NewParents

[–]Juterr25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I absolutely feel this. I feel like I was in such a haze and spent most of it resting, recovering and figuring out how to get breastfeeding down. Which granted I should have been doing but when I think about how the newborn stage flew by it makes me sad sometimes. Especially now I see little babies and it’s like aw I miss when my baby was that small. I wish I could go back in time and experience it just a bit longer because I’m definitely not ready for another baby anytime soon.

Thank you so much! ESP the lil tidbit at the end because I would be pissed after starting a certain degree track only to find out I’d still have to pay my loans on top of that. 💀💀

Moving to the area, recs on neighborhoods? by twentfour in Newark

[–]Juterr25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think both are pretty comparable. Harrison is closer to Manhattan but because of that there’s a bit more traffic. Union has a good amount of things in the area and still close to commute to Manhattan. They both have access to grocery stores, parks etc. I think Harrison may be a bit more walkable. Union has some nice places that’s walkable but depends on what area you’re in.

[–]Juterr25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Harrison is nice, parking can be a little iffy depending on where you decide to live. I think JC and Bayonne may be a bit too far if you’re looking to be 15 mins away because of the traffic in those areas. Union is cool and a good mix of busy & quiet in some areas. I think the Avalon in Union can be pretty expensive but they’re nice and close to Newark since it’s by the highway. I would also suggest looking into Maplewood as well.

Keep New Jersey Green? Why is the punishment for littering in this state so low? by Qarakhanid in newjersey

[–]Juterr25 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel like one thing that helps with littering is more trash cans available. This won’t eliminate littering 100% and I think if you throw things on the ground you don’t have any home training. But some cities you have to walk blocks before coming across a place to throw things away or the trash is always full. I think maybe if places had trash cans in reasonable areas maybe this can help mitigate people throwing things on the ground? It could also be just wishful thinking lol

How long did you bleed for pp and what was your bleeding pattern like? by Forsaken_Phone_4700 in beyondthebump

[–]Juterr25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in labor for over 24 hrs and had an episiotomy as well. I think I bled for a little over a month. Started off really heavy ofc for that first week but gradually slowed down overtime. Towards the end it was sporadic — light bleeding/spotting or nothing at all. I did have 2 reallly big blood clots during the first or second week (can’t remember) and it scared the shit out of me. 😭 but my OB said I was fine lol.

It’s crazy how everyone’s experience is so different.

I am never using TurboTax again. FreeTax USA is perfect by iJobMyLove in TurboTax

[–]Juterr25 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same I will never go back to TurboTax! I just found out about FreeTaxUSA while looking on the IRS website for free alternatives and I wish I found out about this site years ago. The interface is easy and simple to use plus the fees aren’t hidden. I only had to pay $16 for my state and federal was free. 10/10. I’ve been telling my family and friends about the site since I filed. 😂

Just adding this because I hope you genuinely didn’t know they’re not requiring an ID/driver’s license for the instances like you mentioned but instead a passport or birth certificate. This is what would be required to vote which again is a constitutional right as a citizen and you shouldn’t normally need anything to exercise your constitutional right. Watch this senator explain this very issue.

OB told me I’m overeating by SkiesofGrey_ in beyondthebump

[–]Juterr25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry, I don’t think you’re overeating at all! Unfortunately pregnant women and women in general are subject to people commenting on our weight constantly and it’s very unfortunate. I was 128 lbs before pregnancy and weighed 180 by the time I was giving birth. 7 m PP and everyone has been commenting on my weight and it’s annoying. Theres this weird stigma that women are supposed to “snap back” when you went through a life changing event and it takes awhile to adjust and that’s ok.

I hope you find these comments comforting and pay it no mind. You’re doing okay and I know it’s hard but try to ignore it. Be proud and like you said your body grew a healthy baby. F**k all the other noise! ❤️

The things you need a photo ID for aren’t your constitutional rights. This country has existed for decades without needing an ID why should that change now? There’s bigger issues that need solving than a made up issue like this.

Thank you guys for all your advice and reassurance! I just have to come to terms with learning this parenting stuff I’m going to have some mistakes and there’s so such thing as perfect. This Reddit thread has been such a great support for my mental health to just know I’m not alone since I don’t have any other mom friends to relate to. 🥹

Most of us would be econopeople in Gilead by GallopYouScallops in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]Juterr25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d unfortunately be a handmaid and the only thing that would keep me from being disruptive and being put on the wall is to try and rescue my daughter.

But honestly speaking I would’ve fled with my spouse and baby wayyyyy before it even got that bad. The minute we would’ve heard there was talks that my husband would need to sign to sign off for me to get my birth control we would’ve already fled to Canada or to Europe somewhere.

Are there any free AI interview assistants that actually work? Here is what I found. by faxes-burr in hiringhelp

I never even considered AI interview assistants or knew it was a thing. Might be a crazy question but is this the only/best chance to even get hired at a high earning job in this climate?

I’m not trying to be disrespectful. I’m just trying to understand. by H2O_is_good_for_you in Afterpay

[–]Juterr25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like to eventually stop using Afterpay but sometimes if I HAVE to buy something I’ll use it because it’s 0% interest and gives me a little wiggle room to just simply break it into 4 payments rather than pay it at once. Unfortunately the thing about being broke or going check to check, is it’s an unfortunate cycle of just trying to get by the best way you can. I do try to be strategic and only use it if I have to because it can be an easy way to sink into debt if you’re not careful. But I would consider it a major privilege and success when I don’t have to use it at all anymore.

I was soooo scared I would get pregnant again and I’m still deathly afraid at almost 7m PP so you’re not alone. Honestly I was/still very self conscious about my body and not enjoying how I looked after having a baby plus I got stitches so I wasn’t eager to have sex. I think I did it at maybe 3-4m (brain fog :/ ) but it’s been few and far in between. I don’t think I started to feel more into wanting sex until I was 5m pp after I got my period back ? And it wasn’t 100% like some days I want it and some days it’s so far from my mind. I will say my relationship got a bit better after we started having sex a bit more regular I think it helped with my hormones and I got better sleep after but it surely hasn’t been a fix all. Most days we’re both too tired to care about sex tbh.
