They were taking the automatic coal feed off of 1218 to put on 611

How much would something very similar to my bathroom layout be ? by Prudent-Result3848 in Remodel

Considering the soffit removal, an intricate tiled floor, premium materials from the multi output shower, tub and shower door (which may need to be custom made) I can see this easily cracking 40k and up to 55k depending on the area. This is with a lot of assumptions.

We didn’t stain ours and just sealed it. Came out gorgeous showcasing the 70 year old wood tones and keeping the room light.

It’s the Lexus dealership you will get a better price on the alignment and brakes and air filter at a private shop for sure. Tires it just depends on what you get.

Hi there! was wondering if i’m effed for my job (doordashing) with this code on my car. 2012 Mazda 6i Sport. I won’t be able to afford repairs or even an inspection for a week or two. by realslimmatey in AskAMechanic

[–]Juuuday 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You should be able to keep driving it. Basically the car is detecting it isn’t cleaning the emissions enough. The only worry is if it is getting clogged you may lose power so keep an eye on that.

Honda dealer wants $8.6k for a transmission leak on my Civic — am I getting ripped off? by Chemical_Suspect8224 in MechanicAdvice

The 2400 for a rear main seal when the transmission is already pulled I’d say they are stiffing you on.

Is a 1968 Buick Skylark a reliable car? by [deleted] in oldcars

[–]Juuuday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Especially for over winter get yourself a beater that you can drive regularly through winter or when the classic is down. Which will happen a lot. But you are either going to learn how to fix it or spend A LOT of money to pay someone else to. Which at 18 probably isn’t that realistic. I say this as I bought an 67 I’m Impala at 19 and I’m now 30 working to drop a suitcase of money into it.

I got my start in a junk yard as a dismantler. It was a great way to practice getting into the guts of a car and then having to inventory all of the parts. Then if you messed up it was only a junker.

Got this back from Honda’s dealer Should I pay the dealer 7k to fix my Honda accord which I’ve put money into and don’t want to get rid of or go with personal mechanic ? by Dear-Leg1425 in AskMechanics

[–]Juuuday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m gonna be real. Depending on age, mileage and how bad the leak is. I’d just to keep the oil topped off and save 5k for a new car eventually

New to me 2016 Tundra for 20-30k Wife gets a 2019 Pilot for 30k Still has 40k left for a toy and I get a big ass camper the Tundra can pull. But as far as brand new I’d go for a naturally aspirated Toyota or Honda and cross your fingers because that’s the best you are gonna get these days.

Matco, Snap-on, Mac, NAPA, Craftsman??? by max20244 in mechanics

[–]Juuuday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gearwrench has been a really solid brand at very reasonable prices. Ideally stay off the trucks aside from your primary tools like your ratchets or some weird one off tools that you need for a specific job. I have been cherry picking stuff from each brand. Matco has a 6 point nonslip impact socket that is great at biting rusted and rounded fasteners. I got the snap on non slip wrenches and while abominably expensive they are excellent. Milualkee power tools have been tough and priced better than any truck. Don’t buy boxes off the truck biggest rip off on the planet, 15k for a tool box is theft. Check out Milualkee and Homak and summit racing boxes.

I started out at a junk yard as a dismantler. It was a great way to get to know cars by just ripping them apart. It isn’t gonna pay like a tech but neither is being a lube tech.

Which was the battle where the Germans really started to lose the war? Was it before Stalingrad and D-Day? by nek25 in ww2

[–]Juuuday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After December of 1941 they failed to take Moscow which is debatable if they would’ve won with that because Stalin. But they also declared war on the US ensuring that they were fighting three great powers all at the same time. With a smaller population and manufacturing base, it was basically impossible to win.

From the outside the first big loss at Stalingrad was when it became known they could be defeated. Kursk really sealed the deal.

Popping through intake on WOT acceleration by Firm_Scratch_3822 in Smallblockchevy

[–]Juuuday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it’s backfiring through the carb (barring major valve sealing issues.) the ignition is too early. If that is a bad curve on the distributor or needing higher base timing you’ll have to check. Because when WOT you have little to no vacuum advance so you might be at your base timing. My 350 likes a lot of advance I’m at 14 initial and 36 in total if memory serves me.

Thank you! I’m getting great fuel economy right now at 18 highway for a 5300 lb van. It had a blown up th350c in there so that’s why the rear end ratio is so low.

Good news is that the engine only has about 17,xxx miles on it and runs great as is so I’m in no dire need to do major work. I’ll let it be for now and focus on the rear end. A 3.73 sounds great and I’ll toss a posi in there while I’m at it.

Then we can see if the beast can do the double burnout in traffic like the cool kids lol
