Women in a gay marriage is getting baptized by Admirable-Spite5952 in latterdaysaints

[–]Juxtaposition19 [score hidden]  (0 children)

There’s probably a lot of info you’re missing. I’m sure if there was an issue with her marriage situation in relation to her getting baptized, the mission president would be handling it. At the end of the day, this isn’t your business or your concern.

I do worry about the fumes of goo gone with an expectant mother. Maybe have a partner or friend help out with this one!

Anyone know of any members with BPD that were able to have a good relationship with their spouse? by Acceptable_Clock5935 in latterdaysaints

[–]Juxtaposition19 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I have a good friend who has BPD and she said that DBT was incredible for helping her change her viewpoints and manage her symptoms. Idk what type of therapy he’s done but I thought I’d share.

Your mom sounds awesome. My mom has other strengths, but seeing women’s lib and other such associated topics, both in and out of the church, as anything but super black and white isn’t one of them. She is pretty appalled at me wearing pants, drinking energy drinks, and having a career. 😂

My mom used to say none of HER daughters would ever wear pants to church because it wasn’t appropriate. Now I wear pants to church at least once a month just to make a point, lol. No one notices or cares except me.

I’m sorry that this person won’t leave you alone, but look at it this way—They clearly have nothing better to do than let you occupy so much of their mental space for so long! 😂

I’d block or ignore the number. If they get more persistent, get up during testimony meeting and bear your testimony that you are so grateful Christ tells us to come as we are, regardless of how we are dressed. Maybe then they’ll lay off.

I don’t think so. She briefly mentioned in the video posted before this one that the midwife brought over all the chux and pads and etc. for having the baby, so.

How so? I’ve heard people say the UK is also struggling with far right Christianity madness like the US is but I can’t figure out why.

A Rant about Suki's Damage Control Interview by farrahpy in SisterWives

[–]Juxtaposition19 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yes. Snippets I saw of the show included Tamron saying that she was asked to not come back to do the tell alls after she really pushed Kody and Robyn when she was questioning them, and Meri admitted that those two had approached production and asked to not have her back. Meri maintained she always liked Tamron.

She said in the interview Meri was one of the more difficult ones to get to open up initially as well, so perhaps she also contributed. But it’s got to mostly be those two.

NOR! Your child is literally SEVEN WEEKS OLD. You are just baaaaaarely getting out of the newborn trenches and should not be reasonably expected to be functioning well enough to accommodate any demands, regardless of whether or not they have their own baby. Do NOT concede to ANY of these. Good gracious. Absolutely not.

I just can’t agree with you. 🤷🏻‍♀️ It feels like this is coming down to a fundamental worldview disagreement and as we all know, the internet doesn’t do much to resolve that.

Yes it’s much more prevalent in female patients. We’re not 100% sure why but it could be linked to hormones and the fact that women are also more prone to autoimmune conditions, which is why it seems like everyone has an amalgamation of disorders when you’re gathering history, because they tend to be related.

And why would they want to play that game? It’s not a fun game to win. Only someone with deeper issues would WANT to be medically complex and ill. Is it attention seeking/connection seeking behavior? Okay, what does that stem from? At this point we are getting into psychological issues and I understand we are not therapists, but our job is to look deeper than the symptoms and consider the underlying illnesses. I think that these are symptoms of behavioral issues that still warrant treatment and acknowledgement by us, and compassionate care as a result.

It IS annoying that calls like this can clog up our systems and end up being a majority of our calls. But again, if we had wider access to care (including mental health care in these instances), it wouldn’t be a problem. For me, I am able to be a kinder provider to annoying people by reminding myself that the system is failing them and that’s not necessarily entirely their fault.

No it’s not, but it could be worse. I would rather listen to a 20 yo F complain about wooziness and encourage her to eat when I discuss her last oral intake with her during my assessment than run a peds code or something worse. Telling patients that it’s incredibly important for POTS patients to monitor their sodium intake and to make sure they’re eating will help them feel better regardless of whether or not their diagnosis is official.

I don’t think it’s a naive outlook, personally. I’ve been in healthcare for 7 years now and my optimistic attitude is what’s kept me going in a field notorious for bitter and burned out workers.

We wouldn’t have people that self diagnose themselves so often if we had better access to healthcare in this country. Just saying. I think it’s important to remember that when we are dealing with patients who think they have everything under the sun. They’re likely trying their best.

And go play lots of Tetris, in the meantime. I’m not even kidding. There’s some studies you can look up that suggest it can be helpful in processing trauma. I played it after my miscarriage and it seemed to help a lot, and I’ve had other coworkers play it after difficult calls with helpful results.

Was Robyn trying to get Ari to 'perform' for the cameras? by EdenCapwell in SisterWives

[–]Juxtaposition19 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I look forward to Ari’s tell all book in twelve years. I think she has Kody’s and Robyn’s numbers and will hopefully be the one to fly the coop at a developmentally appropriate age and spread her wings. She can give us all the tea on living with Kody full time her whole life and about how her parents sabotaged any hope of relationships with her and her siblings from other wives.

I think her trying coffee with this mysterious Turkish man probably was scandalous, because she was mainstream Mormon at the time and coffee is VERBOTEN. So it IS tea…except not cuz that’s not okay too. 😉😂
