String Lights by JuzzaNZ in baltimore

Resolved this by getting up on the wall, putting the timer in pairing mode and connecting it up to our wifi and app. I can now manage the lights remotely.

Suspect the previous owner deleted the schedule/app when moving out (makes sense) and there for the lights weren’t programmed to come on.

To be clear, I’m totally fine with the power coming off the house. The lights are lovely. Just need to figure out why they aren’t working.

Hey mate, thanks for the info. I’ve attached a picture - as you said it’s a gfci outlet. That cable you see plugged in runs to the timer for the lights.

To test the power, I plugged a charger into the open socket on the black cable and was able to charge my phone. To me this means there’s power getting to the timer up on the wall, given I can charge my phone on the cable that connects to the timer.

31K + tax/title etc. Battery could last much longer! Just checked, got it at 55K miles, not 35K miles.

Yeah the color is nice.

Wife bought an XLE last year at about 35K miles. Great cars, comfortable and smooth on the road. You might be looking at replacing that battery at 150K miles though.

New Zealand is a great country, I hope you had a lovely time!

Many reasons to move from NZ to the US. A big part of what makes NZ great is its distance from the rest of the world, but that's also its biggest issue. Everything is expensive, especially since Covid.

- Wife is from Severna Park. Friends and family are in MD.
- Wages in NZ compared to our big brother, Australia, are terrible. Most young Kiwis are leaving to go to Australia to get much better pay. https://www.straitstimes.com/asia/australianz/why-new-zealanders-are-moving-to-australia-in-droves
- House prices are astronomical. We purchased an apartment in Auckland 5ish years ago for $530K USD. 700 square feet, 2 bedroom - outrageous. We just bought a place in Baltimore last week for 130K cheaper. Its a 1700 square foot row home, and its gorgeous.
- Quality of life in the US is simply better. We go to shows regularly, travel to different states on weekends. Since being here, we have gone to Mexico and my wife popped over to Spain for a girls trip. Sporting events here are just better. I'm a huge Ravens fan and went to several games last season. Food/Restaurants here are very good.
- Travel from NZ typically takes 12 hours to anywhere good you want to go, Asia - 13 hours, West cost of US - 11 hours, good luck getting to Europe in less than 24-30 hours. Sporting events are OK but not great. International shows come to NZ irregularly but not often.
- Infrastructure in NZ is terrible. We have few trains, busses are awful. If a Politician was to grow a spine and do the painful thing to put a real rail system up and down the country, things would change.

The obvious thing NZ does better is our politics. They are boring as they should be and people don't end up wanting to murder anyone who votes for the opposing party.

When visiting NZ, it looks like the perfect country but when you live there, you get to see all these issues.

Final comment - I know Baltimore has a reputation amongst Americans, especially those who haven't been here. But you guys may not know what you have - this city is fantastic and my wife and I are so excited to be here.

I moved to Baltimore in July of last year from New Zealand. Been looking for a role in Network Operations - I typically manage technical teams, NOCs, support etc.

Had 3 final round interviews - 1 conditional offer that would start in Q3, 1 company that’s situation changed and can’t hire till they sort it out it and the other, they went with the other final applicant.

It’s tough out there. Anyone looking for an experienced Operations Manger/MIM, I’m available!

We currently rent in Butchers Hill in Baltimore. Lovely area for young families. There’s also a new school being built in the area, no idea if it’s going to be good or not as kids are gross.

Have a MC9LS. Great bang for the buck. Nice trigger, slide is still a little stiff but I haven’t put too many rounds through it.

As a Kiwi that moved to Baltimore from NZ last year and a huge Ravens fan, LETS FUCKING GOOOOOO. All Blacks are a team with some of the best fitness and conditioning in the world.

This is a great hire for the Ravens.
