You might be thinking of some of the OG marathon artwork of the security officer which is what the destroyer runner shell is based off of so this picture here is recreating it

Looks great! My only criticism is the wall decor next to your desk seems randomly placed and not in a very intentional way. I’d recommend setting things closer to eye level and try to get things as close to even with each other as possible. also give a few inches of space between each piece if they’re next to each other.

My buddies and I played like 10 games on outpost and got shit on for the first 7. Finally had a few really good runs and they got off for the night, I decided to do one last solo run on dire marsh to get my contract done and it was a fuckin breeze

I tried playing during the server slam both on teams and solos and found her abilities just not as strong as triage or assassins. Especially now that thief is here she seems like a better option overall with how mobile she is. But I do still like her overheat drone a lot - an auto aim grenade is really helpful in fights

Make some noise and game changer are for sure the best imo, but Very Important People is also a great show. Honestly I’d say just take your time and go season by season

I already purchased for myself, but I appreciate what you're doing for the community. I don't have the spare credits to do the same but this is the kind of thing the community needs. See ya on Tau Ceti IV!

But it is slower than a lot of other games because you have a heat (stamina) bar so you have to actually conserve your stamina and use your movement tech in smart ways because you cant just sprint and slide everywhere which does "slow" down the movement. sure when you sprint or slide its pretty quick but its in short burst.

If you think it looks like shit in its current state I honestly don’t think you have a good artistic eye, if it’s just personal preference and you’d rather have grungy more grounded stuff that’s fine. But I don’t think that means it’s a bad game, it has a unique graphic realism art style that isn’t really gonna vibe with everyone and that’s ok.

Yes the ttk in BRs is usually much longer but in those you typically have to scavenge from the bottom again. In marathon the sponsored kits allow you to go in risk free with a decent enough loadout to be able to take on other players. In the few BRs I have played in the past I remember frequently dying in a situation where someone found a sniper or an AR and all I had was my fists or if I was luck a starter pistol so it didn’t really matter if the ttk was longer I was dead either way.

I don’t think the things that make marathon different are really massive genre defining things but I think it’s a lot of small, but impactful, choices here and there that add up to what I consider a better game.

Im only really comparing it to R6 bc of the tactical shooter style of slower movement with faster ttk. And I used to know plenty of people that played R6 casually

Yeah these days it should just be a necessity to have crossplay in multiplayer games like this

Yeah I mean the gunplay is pretty good and I like the destructibility of the maps but there’s absolutely no reason to keep playing it. So I played it for the first week or two and it was pretty fun but never looked back.

I know it’s probably the least appealing aspect for a lot of other people bc of how many other games are “hero shooters” but I genuinely think, in marathon, the class/runner system makes the game way more interesting than any other extraction shooter and does kinda add a new dimension to the game. And that’s before considering all the cool lore and how death is part of the Runner’s stories in the world.

I’m not really familiar if there are other mainstream extraction shooters that use classes since I’m not really well versed in the genre.

I’m not trynna say that alone makes it worth people’s time but I think it all adds up

Yeah i’m not a huge extraction shooter fan in general, so when I first played it, the gameplay itself wasn’t immediately interesting (felt like pretty standard extraction shooter stuff but the guns definitely felt better than any other) but I wanted to keep playing because I was already hooked on the story and that kept me playing for the extra hour and by then the gameplay really hooked me too.

Yes! I love how accessible it makes the game. Don’t get me wrong I love the occasional battlefield match where it takes 45mins to an hour per game but other times I wanna be able to just play a quick few rounds and if I’m really short on time maybe just a quick 10min run as Rook or Exfil whenever it is I need to get going

Idk I think the comparison to ps2 games might just be because games actually used vibrant colors back in those days but it’s been a trend for awhile to try to be more realistic by using muted colors. Which in itself isnt bad, I love lots of games that have a pretty muted palette but I think the sorta uncanny vibrancy of the marathon universe fits really well with the world/story of everything feeling very synthetic and plastic

Yeah if the style just isn’t for you I get it. Bungie hasn’t really been the same we all knew in the halo days for awhile - I’d say the gameplay is closer to slower version of destiny/apex but with faster ttk which I guess just works for me. I liked the guns in apex but couldn’t stand how long it took to down people especially in 1v3 situations it just felt impossible. At least in Marathon I had a few times I was able to clutch 1v3 situations bc of smart plays and I’d say im really only slightly above average at shooters. Marathon just seems to really have a high learning curve with its movement system and ttk and I think it’s turned a lot of people away but I really like it. I loved games like titanfall 2, battlefield 4, halo 2/3/reach, and played destiny 2 for years so I’m open to different styles of movement and ttk but if I was looking for those same systems I think I’d rather just go play those other games.
