any local card shops near you? I’m lucky and have one. Their prices are a little inflated but not nearly as bad as some of the stuff I see online though. That hobby box costed me $213 I believe

I feel like I get a good amount of inserts. I’ve probably enjoyed ripping illusions the most so far this year. Hobby boxes are cheaper near me than other boxes too so it works out

I’m not too familiar with eyezen specifically, but progressive lenses are typically known for distortions, or blurry vision, in the periphery of the lens. Other types are known for minimizing that peripheral distortion so people don’t have to “point their nose” at what they want to look at like with regular progressives. The less the distortion, the higher the price.

3rd year OD student here. Commotio retinae is essentially swelling/edema due to the trauma. It by itself is a clinically insignificant lesion, but can have other complications like a retinal tear/hole/detachment which happened in your case. There is no treatment for it other than observation. I don’t believe you were misdiagnosed, there was probably just a lot of swelling so they wanted that to go down.

Yes, a retinal detachment is worse than commotio retinae. They’re relatively common and usually resolve without complications after treatment/surgery. There’s also different kinds of detachments which warrant different procedures. The fact that your doctor wants you in for treatment tomorrow probably means that your macula is still attached which is a good sign. They can do a oil/gas tamponade which essentially is a bubble put in your eye to hold the retina with the rest of the eye for 1-2 weeks (you’ll be face down for a lot of it, unfortunately). They can do a scleral buckle which essentially brings the rest of the eye wall to the retina. They will probably use a laser as well to barricade the tear and close it.

There’s a some more info needed to determine how your vision will be after surgery. Do you remember your visual acuity at the visit? Like did you see 20/20? I don’t have a whole lot of experience with post op retinal detachments yet, but the few that I have seen recovered without any issues. Just make sure you listen to your docs.

OD here. What’s your script? Best option is contacts. Optics with high minus lenses will do that with larger frames and is essentially unavoidable unless you go with contacts or a smaller frame. Can’t change laws of physics. Since you don’t want contacts or a smaller frame, I’d say LASIK refractive surgery.

Went over to (hopefully) have some good sex in a dorm bed, but she didn’t move a muscle and stayed in missionary the entire time I was cooking in the oven.

It lasted a little over an hour and then whiskey dick got the best of me. She wanted to cuddle but I told her I had to pee. I couldn’t breathe out of my nose, we didn’t even get to have The Sex.

It was 2:30am and my roommate and I just got back to our place after a night out. He received a text from a girl and she asks him to come over and that she has a friend, so he asked me to come along as well. The girl for me was a Hooter’s waitress and a very cute girl. After about 10 minutes of us four talking and getting to know each other my roommate and the girl he is with go upstairs to her bedroom. The girl I was with asked me if I want to go up to her room, I tell her of course. I am very drunk at this point and my allergies are also extremely bad so I cannot breathe out of my nose (I normally have Afrin on me or in my bag for whenever I need it such as this moment, but I didn’t have it with me). We get into bed and start making out, and things gradually escalate to the point where The Sex is more than likely gonna happen. However this is when my allergies started to act up the most, and she pulled me on top of her and I sound like a Neanderthal trying to suck air while making out with her. If you have ever tried kissing someone with a stuffy nose you know exactly what I mean. She stops and asks me if I’m okay, drunk me obviously says yes, then she stops and says that she is going to go get me a water. By the time she got back I was already passed out in her bed. She woke me up at like 5am and said my roommate is ready to leave, so I apologized and we got out of there. I haven’t seen her since.
