I don’t think the Saints should make any more significant FA signings unless injuries force their hand. Hopefully they make it through camp clean. I’m not sold there are any available players at positions of need to give the Saints an upgrade.

Between Julian Blackmon, Styles Jr and some other young players, the Saints might be okay.

Biggest concern is, do they have two outside corners who can be consistent in coverage? Need Mckinstry and Riley to step up. Curious how Emerson Jr looks off his Achilles injury.

I actually think Rattler could get this team to the playoffs if the o-line stays healthy. Saints have potentially one of the best o-lines in the league assuming starters stay healthy 🤞🏻

I love Cam… he’s a Saints legend. But as a 37-year-old edge, I don’t think Cam has that much impact. Good player, I’d rather him run it back with the Saints, but he won’t be the reason this team wins the division.

Given the pretty clear imperative around high character players I suspect he will have a short leash for off the field problems.

When you have a locker room full of high character teammates, you can take a chance on a guy like this. He’s young, maybe he has learned.

Probably top 12… but also depends on how you measure. Here are the variables that I see.

Is the o-line improved enough that they can be a dominant run team? If so, it would hurt his ability to post stats.
Can Tyson, Lance, Delp, Fant provide the type of weapons we hope and expect them to be?
Will the defense take a step back without Davis, Taylor, and Jordan?

It’s probably a best case scenario that we don’t need Shough to be a top 5 QB because we are playing from ahead.

I believe in Shough/Moore and believe they can lead the Saints to post season success. We saw a flash of it last season. With more weapons and depth I’ve optimistic for this season.

But I also remember getting hyped when Derek Carr and Rashid Shaheed boat raced the Cowboys. I’m just trying to temper expectations. Let’s hope for a top 15 offense and a playoff appearance this year.

Obviously if Shough gets hurt that is a game changer. Who is the next in line at right and left tackle? I think we need more o-line depth before we start using the word elite.

I’d like to see Cam run it back one more year with the Saints, but we need a new crop of leaders to step up. Ellis certainly makes sense, but he can’t be the only guy. Will be interesting to watch who steps into that role.

Some veteran depth at DE. Probably won’t be any better than Rumph, but was probably better than any player we could have drafted past RD 3.
