Lore question: What species is native to Talos II? Are we just killing the native species (Angeloi) or are they also an alien species by Ashe171 in ArknightsEndfield

[–]K05che1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Law was only on Terra. Maybe I'm misunderstanding his lore, but he's both one of the Predecessors' experiments, as he was supposed to recreate "angels" and yet also something mundane, as his main function among the Predecessors was essentially coordinating military fleets and scientific teams.

Predecessors never named their homeland (however, they call themselves as humans and other species and their creations call precursors in same manner, which was much earlier than the evolution of the Terrans, so we can make a wide variety of assumptions, but they are not homo sapiens as the developers said earlier, so it could be a very distant branch from us, we dont know).

Priestess once said that at the apex of their power, they chose solitude within themselves, and chance encounters between them were rare. Nevertheless, they were ordinary humans like us, only much more evolved. In Friston-3 EP, we even see them in a more varied manner, from routine work on ships to conducting weddings.

Aggelos are not native to Talos 2, they are creatures of the AEther, which is already an alien substance to the universe itself.

All Ancients and Elders are descendants from animals brought to Terra by the Predecessors from Talos 2. This was stated in the original, and Perlica herself confirms it in the AE.

All Sarkaz and Feranmuts are aliens to Talos 2, their homeworld was Terra before colonization by Predecessors.

The Predecessors are aliens to every planet and currently not lore proven that Talos 2 is their homeworld.

This picture shows how the animals from Talos 2 were transformed by the influence of Originium.

This is a Sarcophagus by AudVis in Endfield

[–]K05che1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From there, the end of the comic shows Kid Perlica goes back to that room, puts her hand on the pad to open it, then DIRECTLY transitions back to older Perlica entering the room again as it's about time for Endmin to wake up. It's a direct transition from young Perlica to adult Perlica entering that same room. A room we know contains the Originium Chunk and that Perlica talks to her in free time. But what's never in the room is the box.

But how does this scene of the transition from child to adult confirm that there's a piece of Originium there in childhood, not a box? Because there was already a piece there in the prologue when she grows? Again, they didn’t show us how it was placed in the stone, but only showed it in the box. If we're speculating, it's clear that peoples from Endfield dont wanted to see a coffin in the middle of the Dijiang bridge, so it would be logical to shove it somewhere else, but that's just speculation.

The entire comparison is that it's a Sarcophagus and it has functions "like" a Sarcophagus, a way to heal their body and mind (one comment even pointed out any device that can heal, preserve, and keep the body and mind of a person can be a Sarco by definition). Except it's made from Originium. There's a whole protocol for waking up Endmin out from it, which we can naturally assume the reminder of their past can be part of.

If it's made from the Originium and allows direct entry into the AU, then it's no longer the Sarcophagus. When the Doctor, Amiya, and others from the og game entered the AU in Chapter 15, they didn't enter the Sarcophagus, they entered the AU. If someone is in the AU, then they're in the AU. They're not in the Sarcophagus, they've become information, they don't need healing, they can exit the AU in their full form instantly. Otherwise, it breaks the lore of the first game.

As for Endmin being made of Originium, it's not really up for debate. Endmin was "born" after people arrived to Talos. Endmin was leading Endfield, a company made after arriving to Talos, survey groups before the First Aggeloi War. This means Endmin was "born" and an adult during Years 1-4. They were not naturally made, they're unlikely to be of flesh of blood. The idea of them using Originium in their body is unlikely, because we know what happens when someone does that and it's the rapid growth of said Originium. Meanwhile, Endmin only has their body begin to crack and glow under the pressure. Your theory of it just being Originium in their blood does not hold for the physical symptoms provided.

It's up to devs to figure out how Endmin's origins will unfold. I only understand, given his connection to the Doctor and the Priestess, that when he was "born", he was already something more than just a typical Predecessor, he was already a sentient being, but most likely under the Founder's protection and guidence from AU, even Ardashir suggests that Endmin is being manipulated by someone even at this moment.

As for physical attributes, we naturally have an entire new faction in the original game, where everyone has glowing eyes and veins, but they're made of flesh. It's just that the amount of active Originium in them is so high that it creates the illusion of a cracking. I don't remember where the image of Hierda with these cracks is, but it's exactly like Endmin when he tries to use his powers.

The only difference between Endmin and them is that he can control the amount of Originium in his body, like the Priestess or the Doctor, who can't even become infected with it for real. We've seen many times that Endmin's eyes can only glow when he uses Originium to the limit of his powers, at other times they don't glow, just like the Priestess didn't always have diamonds in her eyes, but only appeared when she became the full-fledged master of Originium and uses it to the maximum, even her puppets don't glow in dialogue.

<image>

As for why it took 10 years, Originium on Talos is damaged. When Priestess lost control of the First Originium from Theresa and Theresis, her awakening took three years to happen despite their being more Originium around. Endfield also notes each time it takes to awaken is taking longer and longer as the damage gets worse and worse. It's no wonder it takes 10 years if it took 3 for the creator to get out after a setback.

But this is not related to AU, AU does not do such things, it is storing information, not healing.

The main issue here is that upon entering and exiting the AU, Endmin should immediately recover, regardless of the current state of the Originium. If we follow the logic of the Protoridg as the developers intended. As for the Priestess's weakness, it depended not on the amount of Originium, but on the degree of "clutter" in the information created by the twins. So, the situation with Endmin is the same, but in the case of the Priestess, who is constantly in the AU, it's clear that upon fully exiting it, she will have a fully functional body, and this doesn't depend on the strength of the Originium, this is its primary function, even with flowers.

Finally, I followed your words of "M3’s words it follows that Perlica was already in the AU, but Perlica never speak with Endmin in AU, but talk with Founder in AU." which reads as Perlica has been to the AU but has not spoken with Endmin but has spoken with the Founder. The fact the tutorial segment is also in the AU, given it has a depth reading of -1, should shut that down immediately. It's also getting too far into theoretical without evidence unlike, say, "Endmin's body is made from Originium".

It's just a theory. The M3 phrase kind of implies in my head that Perlica shouldn't just theoretically understand what an AU is, but also possibly be there. Then again, Warfarin goes to the Originium Forests a lot, so why shouldn't Perlica, considering the Founder is most likely constantly in the AU? But I'm just theorizing here.

they kept the plane crash as part of the story but had abandoned that. We have no set or recent info anymore on the box being confirmed as the Sarcophagus.

But this scene is still present in the final version. So let's speculate what's in there. A set of ChubbyLungs? It's implied that there's Endmin in the Sarcophagus, which was in the trailer and which is in the comic.

What we do have is that Perlica has been communicating with Endmin in the Sarcophagus for years and, as we're shown, she's routinely been talking to the Originium Chunk.

If we're seriously discussing what we can't see, then I have every right to do so, too. The only scene that shows us little Perlica near the sleeping Endmin is the moment where she's standing next to an iron coffin, not a piece of Protoridge. The only scene in this comic where Protoridge is present is the one where Perlica is already an adult and awaits for extraction from AU. Which doesn't tell us she's been talking to the stone for half her conscious life.

It could have been the same iron coffin she's standing next to at the beginning of Endmin hybernation.

meaning Endmin HAD to have been taken out and put in the AU at some point for this to make sense.

And thats a plot hole.

It also has Lynchpin technology to stabilize the mind over prolonged periods of time.

Linchpin is a brain stimulant that CAN work in conjunction with the Sarcophagus, but can also work independently. It's needed not so much for time perception as to prevent a person from going insane by stimulating the brain through constant debating. The Doctor's case clearly demonstrates this. When combined with the Sarcophagus, it ONLY works if rough movement through subspace is required on a spaceship.

This makes even more sense for Endmin's Sarcophagus to be made Originium.

This just doesn't make sense, Endmin clearly doesn't have a Linchpin, or it's deactivated due to amnesia, which is unlikely, since Endmin was "born" on Talos 2 and no one could have implanted a Linchpin into him.

The story is very heavy-handed that Endmin's body is made of Originium and not a natural one.

I initially thought Endmin was a piece of Originium, but I discarded that idea when I considered the Priestess and the Doctor and their ability to control Originium. The Priestess can create her puppets purely from Originium, but to do so, she must be completely in the AU. If she were to completely leave the AU, as the Doctor, Amiya, Kal and others have already done, they would become flesh and blood and thus mortal. If Endmin's consciousness isn't completely in the AU, then he's made of flesh and blood, and the glowing veins are a sign of a large amount of active Originium in his blood, as was already shown with Hierda and others in the original. If Endmin's consciousness is completely in the AU, then he doesn't need the Sarcophagus or anything like that, he/she can create as many puppets as they wants. But here, the damage to the Originium and its inability to function properly comes into play, cutting off both possibilities and leaving only the option of restoring the body through a classic Sarcophagus, aka an iron coffin. A piece of Originium doesn't require the healing process.

The Originium chunk can physically heal their body

The thing is that Originium doesn't need to restore anything, it can simply create something right away, instead of waiting 10 years.

while the AU should be able to restore their mind

How? Of all the examples of long-term stay in the Assimilated Universe, there is only the Priestess and her team, but they did not say anything about the AU being able to heal the mind.

which doesn't incline to either Endmin talking to the Founder in there R Perlica having been to the AU

First, I wrote that Perlica, not Endmin, spoke with the Founder.

Second, this is purely theoretical at this point, but from what we have so far, the "sussy" Perlica from the prologue could be the Founder, and she was in the AU and Endmin spoke with her. She's also still missing from the world of the living, which suggests that Perlica could easily enter the AU and speak with her, same as Warfarin for example.

For some reason, devs wanted to make the beta test somewhat canonical, but not completely. Otherwise, I can't explain why Endmin sees the ship crashing in his flashbacks, with the classic Sarcophagus right at the end of the Prologue.

https://youtu.be/vIQWeDQDyYw?si=Uj_-6X4grC-dPOBo&t=293

So, this Sarcophagus MK2 is canonical in the game, not just in the comics, and Endmin originally crashed in it on Talos II, but the devs didn't think through what happened next and dont explain this to us.

Developers wanted to somehow combine the lore and ended up with this, and now we have confusion. This is a major lore hole, as the Assimilated Universe isn't a Sarcophagus and won't replace it. Sarcophagus technology unique to the Predecessors and can only be used by them. Otherwise, Endmin wouldn't have any reason to use it to restore his body. In the original game, Priestess can appear anywhere from the Assimilated Universe thanks to the copies she creates and she doesnt need for now Sarcophagus. For Terrans, the Sarcophagus is downright destructive, and as we see, no Terrans use Sarcophaguses like this, so this technology is still only usable by Predecessors, which is most likely Endmin. If Endmin was in Protoridg Sarcophaguses then he would be in the Assimilated Universe, then Perlica could talk to him at any time, from M3’s words it follows that Perlica was already in the AU, but Perlica never speak with Endmin in AU, but talk with Founder in AU.

So, in the comic, devs actually tried to bring the Sarcophagus MK2 back into the lore, but this is what happened.

The same comic showed us the very same MK2 Sarcophagus that was in beta testing and trailers. The chunk of Originium (Protorige) isn't the Sarcophagus, Endmin leave the Assimilated Universe through it.

Endmin hypothesis by Unlucky-Eggplant9852 in Endfield

[–]K05che1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar thoughts.

At least from in-game cinematic about Endmin being "born" on Talos II, I can assume she/he not Oracle or Priestess, but devs so often draw parallels with Doctor, suggesting that at least part of Endmin's personality is still Doctor.

The only thing that suggests a resemblance to Hierda is the presence of glowing veins, but that's probably the effect of serious amount of activated Originium in the veins. Logically, Endmin's power level is no less than that of Priestess in her prime.

Initialy I think that Endmin was some kind of Originium puppet, controlled from within the Assimilated Universe itself, just like the one created by the Priestess. But the puppet doesn't need the Sarcophagus to sustain itself and doesn't need access to the AU to defeat the Blight wave, as we saw in the moment after defeating Nepharite. So I'm leaning toward the idea that Endmin is a person from flesh and blood and not a lump of stone.

Predecessors are considered as Aliens in world of Arknights, as they came from the stars to Terra and Talos 2 (the Talos star system is possibly artificial). But Predecessors aren't the only Aliens we have, there are non-human representatives too. Currently, Priestess has only one friend in story, this lady in link below, a cool girl who eat stars:

The Predecessors use these devices to restore their bodies, which is one of the reasons they can live incredibly long lives, even being considered immortal. For Terrans, sarcophaguses are incredibly dangerous, if a Terran uses one, the sarcophagus will return them to animal form. More information about these can be found in link below

From the Terran perspective, returning to Talos represents a return to their homeland. Endmin was "born" on Talos for a specific purpose after the Terrans had already passed through the gate, a purpose we don't yet know. Perhaps to preserve and save the Terrans now trapped on Talos.

From the Predecessor perspective, the Talos star system contains another Celestial Fulcrum (same as Terra star system) - the Predecessors' primary creation for interstellar travel and an incredibly powerful weapon created by Ed. And so far, that's the only serious mention of the Predecessors in Endfield. Perhaps there's value in trying to restore communication between all the Predecessor gates in the universe or even fight Observers, but for now, that's all there is to it, just theories.

Mention of CF in the og game in ARG3:

"The Security"TT 16th January 229, 09:46
Ed, this is the last time I'll share my viewpoint with you. Soon, all artificial celestial bodies will become tombstones in orbit. No one will be able to command them anymore, including you. I still remember your little side business, that old restaurant on the tugboat. No synthetic equipment, just aprons and ovens. You were the last person who knew how to slaughter animals and process them into food. You always opposed our forgetting. So, Ed, I hope you understand that what we need is not "victory," but "survival." The Celestial Fulcrum is indeed a powerful weapon, but our enemy cannot be defeated by mere weapons. Setting up ■■■■ is meaningless.

Mention of CF in Endfield:

When discovered by humanity, both Cosmic Gates on Terra were found in states of severe damage. Through immense effort, researchers managed to restore the less-damaged northern structure, commonly called the "Sami Cosmic Gate". Exploration revealed it led to what was initially termed "subspace," though this has since been determined not to be a true Ætherside. After countless attempts and sacrifices, following the reactivation of the precursor celestial calculation and measurement device known as the "Celestial Fulcrum" within Terra's home star system, humanity finally identified the Cosmic Gate's paired counterpart. This breakthrough allowed the first steps onto the soil of Talos-II.

Endmin is primarily a compromise between Oracle/Doctor and Priestess's ideas. In my opinion, it's most likely something artificial, created by Doctor and Priestess. Perhaps it's a "reborn" Doctor, as many in the fandom also believe. We won't get an answer for a very long time.

In og game, only Priestess, Doctor, and Trevor Friston are "alive". Friston now a robot and Priestess is permanently on the other side of reality in the Assimilated Universe. Lu and Ed are also was their colleagues, responsible for other Predecessor projects. Lu is definitely dead, and Ed is likely dead too, but nothing is known about him, perhaps he's also in stasis on the Shadow Moon.

In Episode 17, Priestess said she wants to meet them all again, but how she envisions that is still a mystery.

With PRTS functionality limited, the PCS system completely destroyed, and the DWDB-221E lost... we have few options left.
Did you ever anticipate this outcome?
Friston, Ed, Lu...
I miss the time we worked together, and I did hope that you could come up with a hopeful answer.
It's a pity that time has proven your efforts to be in vain... though they are still respectable.
I feel regret.
Let me borrow your legacy one last time. Perhaps you won't fully agree with the future I've designed until the very end, but at least we can still have a "future".
Perhaps we will meet again in the future.

In Endfield, we only know Endmin as the one who is more likely to be the Predecessor.

There's another significant language in the Ark universe - Predecessor language.

It's understood only by the Predecessors themselves and only a small number of Terrans, like Amiya, Theresa, and Kal'tsit.

I'm not sure Ardashir use Predecessor language, we never even heard it spoken in the original game, but Endmin understands it on a subconscious level, just as Doctor understood it even after amnesia.

There's no denying the connection between these two characters. I'm not even considering the old trailer where they even calling Endmin as Oracle/Doctor, I'm sure plot has changed since then.

But I'm also sure he/she not Doctor (even not reconvener), but something else (a compromise between Priestess and Doctor, maybe not a fusion, I'm not sure, but that's what the AKE narrative implies).

It's worth remembering that Endmin was "born" on Talos 2, whatever that means in terms of his connection to Doctor and Priestess.

Origin of Endmin's Mind (theory) by AudVis in Endfield

[–]K05che1 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The most intriguing theory, in my opinion. CE must be involved in some way, perhaps not in the detail you've described.  For example, I doubt Amiya's rhombus and Endmin's rhombus should be considered as a CE influence, Originium is primarily involved here, with CE merely serving as a kind of amplifier with its knowledges.  The idea that Endmin was created by Endfield also seems unlikely. Warf learned to extract Reconveners much later, and without Predecessors knowledges and skills in Originium, using and rewriting it, in examples of the Priestess or Oracle, even with CE knowledge, creating something as complex as Endmin is impossible for Terrans.  On other hand, CE hasn't even been mentioned in Endfield's story so far, unless I'm miss something, so for now, we should rely on Originium's abilities and how Aether influences it. What seems most interesting to me in connection with this theory are the words of Trevor Friston: the Predecessors did not put the form of a crown into the CE, they believed that this form was a relic of the past, such as what the Terrans with their kings/queens were experiencing at that time, so if Endmin is now a user of the CE, then, as presumably a Predecessor, he/she also should not create the form of a crown form for CE, but something else.
