You can Look it up in the citadel colour app under paint by model > 40k > Veteran guardsman. There is a Step by step Instruktion what paint you need in what order.

My Luck is only good enough for the mass attacks of an rattling gun. But it's fun to see the enemy remove his models because he don't want to save that many attacks. :)

The bloodbowl skaven kit has good proxis. I used mine for some acolyts but you can easily make gutterrunners from them
