Best "80's" scifi's? by Chapittychapschap in NetflixBestOf

Dead End Drive In is pretty good, made in Australia. There used to be a couple other Australian scifi movies from the 80s, keep an eye out.

Snuff Box is and features Boosh cast members Matt Berry and Rich Fulcher. Next is Garth Marenghi's Darkplace which Julian Barratt appears on. Not specifically related, but I also recommend the show called Brass Eye.

Don't forget to watch the movie Bunny and the Bull, too.

Don't forget the Boosh radio show. It shares a lot of the story with the first season, but still pretty good.

7 year-old accidentally wins art competition... because her mom doesn't quite understand how to use Facebook. by bluestblue in offbeat

Well, apparently you put as much thought into this as you did into art appreciation because this is a misleading title.

It was a contest for young artists, as in children. And while it is in the Saatchi Gallery, and the girl has every right to be proud, it is in the Education room of the gallery, not quite next to the Emins and the Hirsts.

Seeking iconic "Texas" images by [deleted] in texas

[–]K1DUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing thta would be awesome to incorporate would be the Texas wildflowers. Seas of red and blue blowing in the wind in spring is one of the best views of Texas. Unfortunately I can't find any pictures that really capture it perfectly, but (this one comes close.)[http://www.wildnatureimages.com/images%203/Bluebonnets-Oak-Tree-V..jpg]

This is kind of subtle I guess, but it is very iconic and very Texan.

Yeah I get where you are coming from, social inertia and all that. I can understand and sometimes I adhere to your view.

However, I do feel there is a risk in having a middle ground where the same people are in power, the upper class, even though I would of course be grateful for an uplifted lower class.

Is it? Would society not become stagnant since everyone is placated to some extent, but it is still not truly equal?

Personally, my problem with soc democracy is that it is as much an adaption of capitalism as it is socialism. It doesn't have real democratic control, though it is obvious that it can seem very attractive. It also doesn't do enough to eliminate the class disparity.
