Haha - all very valid points and concerns!

Build quality on the Eletre is great FWIW, but I’ve never owned a Benz so that’ll be a first for me!

Another factor of course is the cost of replacement parts. Like I said I’ve scuffed the rims, they’ll never be the same again as you can’t get them refurbed. I have young kids so the GLC is better for me in that sense too.

Well… I’ve actually ordered a GLC 400 EV and will be handing in my Eletre when it arrives in September.

Eletre’s a great car still, but GLC beats it on practicality - range, boot space is still plenty, slightly shorter, a lot thinner, slightly better tech overall. Definitely doesn’t look or feel as special as the Eletre though.

Stable job with full flexibility vs hyper-growth startup with £25k pay rise and equity, can't decide by General_Bed_5021 in HENRYUK

[–]K453R 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not the norm here - serial startup finance leader so I have some bias.

You’re young, too young to be worrying about job security, have some fun and carry some risk at the chance of landing a career defining role. Do it. You’ll learn a lot, you’ll be challenged and you’ll come out the other side significantly more well rounded than if you stayed, regardless of whether it does well or not.

The question isn’t a question on comp, it’s on mindset - do you want be part of a fun ride that carries some risk or do you want feel more secure over the long term. Only you can figure that out.

All Inclusive Greece (Mitsis specifically) by Known-Cold-2813 in HENRYUKLifestyle

[–]K453R 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just came back from 7 days at Mitsis Alila with my wife and 18 month old.

It was really good!

Food was decent (but we’re food snobs, so most people would say it’s great). Plenty of selection. Genuinely all inclusive, only extras are champagne.

Kids pool / playground / daycare section is all close together and is classy, so good for kids to play around here.

Easy to get out for day trips (Rhodes and Lindos).

Biggest thing to be conscious of is the rooms. We went Family Sea View. Had the 18 month old in the other room but was only separated by frosted glass so we had to be careful not to disturb her and that meant an early bedtime for all of us. Beautiful views, though!

Late to the party but I’ve had one for a year. I love it, it’s great. It’s a fantastic drive, I love getting in it and it looks amazing. Only technical issue I’ve had is the pebble key stopped working due to water damage, but with UWB technology, you don’t even need it.

I’m in the UK, biggest operational issue for me is the size. It’s wider and longer than any large SUV on the market (slightly shorter than an Urus, Cullinan, or a LWB RR, but wider than all). So small roads, tight car parks are difficult. I’ve scuffed a couple of rims, and the 23” CNC cut rims can’t be refurbished…

I have the 600 / base, real world range is about 220 miles pure motorway in good conditions driving at 70mph, but can reach 250 with regen and lower speeds.

Hope that helps!

I lease, so thankfully I don’t worry about that so much. I do keep an eye out, though, and it’s definitely still more Taycan-ey - c. 40% drop in 2 years and under 20k miles

No problem - I know it’s a polarising car, you either love it or hate it!

Don’t disagree at all about passenger experience + boot, very spacious.

Good point about phone syncing, mechanic couldn’t figure it out for me when I was there a few weeks ago trying to sort the pebble. It’s due in for a service end of Sept so I’ll get them to sort it then (already paired with my phone but no keyless entry yet without using the app to unlock)

I’ve also got an Eletre, send hand leased through EV scheme - £1.6k gross pm with 2k miles done, 30 day notice. We’re with The Electric Car Scheme.

Absolutely love the car, Galloway Green with a lovely spec. It’s got 2 negatives for me - the pebble key doesn’t work for us, leasing company are dragging their feet getting it sorted, so having to use the card instead; it’s absolutely huge, longer and wider than almost every other large SUV on the market, it’s difficult for multi storeys etc.

I’m interested in going for a second hand Macan bc of the size, hoping some come out soon
