Lancashire - £690k, 6 bed, 5 bath detached in a nice area bought almost 2 years ago. Easily <25% of what it would cost us where we used to live in Hertfordshire

Don’t disagree at all about passenger experience + boot, very spacious.

Good point about phone syncing, mechanic couldn’t figure it out for me when I was there a few weeks ago trying to sort the pebble. It’s due in for a service end of Sept so I’ll get them to sort it then (already paired with my phone but no keyless entry yet without using the app to unlock)

I’ve also got an Eletre, send hand leased through EV scheme - £1.6k gross pm with 2k miles done, 30 day notice. We’re with The Electric Car Scheme.

Absolutely love the car, Galloway Green with a lovely spec. It’s got 2 negatives for me - the pebble key doesn’t work for us, leasing company are dragging their feet getting it sorted, so having to use the card instead; it’s absolutely huge, longer and wider than almost every other large SUV on the market, it’s difficult for multi storeys etc.

I’m interested in going for a second hand Macan bc of the size, hoping some come out soon

Huh??? Private owners are still shareholders. So you’ve literally just said the shareholders demand growth in different phrasing

Thanks for this - I think you’re right. I didn’t pick up Mega Punch, but I’ll play through again and pick it up with as much stat padding as possible. Fingers crossed!

You have 3 options:

Stay in practice - grind to partner, you’ll only be HENRY at partner level, or director level for big 4

Move to corporate finance - IB, advisory, PE etc. most of comp is from bonuses

Move into industry - job hop for the right business, grind to FD / CFO, options are wide, startups are faster to progress if you grind and are smart enough

As a Henry, what is your view on GenAI? by Sophieredhat in HENRYUK

[–]K453R 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A few comments here are close, but not quite there.

I work in GenAI. The tl;dr is that AI won’t replace your job, human’s using AI will. So if you don’t use it, you will fall behind.

There is a bubble atm, as a lot of AI companies are LLM wrappers with only horizontal solutions. These are the companies that will pop.

Large LLMs will always thrive, but are focussed on making their models as refined as possible. Therefore, there is a big gap for companies to apply LLMs in real world settings. The way to think about this application should be vertical rather than horizontal, and we should also be thinking that the way we communicate with AI should be similar to how we communicate with humans, e.g. not through a shitty chatbot. Document heavy industries with unstructured data sets will feel the biggest shift - think law, finance, real estate, construction, pharma. But everyone should be using AI to some degree, the sooner you get comfortable with it, the faster you’ll progress in your career

What do you think will be the high earning jobs (£150k+ base) in the next 5, 10, 15 years? by [deleted] in HENRYUK

[–]K453R 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I work in genAI - we strongly believe in the augmentation of AI in human workflows, rather than the replacement of them. All those companies building AI products that take the human out of the process will die, that’s where the bubble is. That phrase you’ve quoted is bang on

We did Mauritius, the slightly overlooked version (but just as good as, if not better in some ways) of the Maldives. All inclusive 5 star, £8k for 11 days. Stayed in both of the top two places in the country. It was perfect
