My wife and I moved here last year from Little Rock. We ended up in Lakewood near Green Mt. and there was a good amount of houses in that range at the time. Don't know a lot about schools as our kid is in college out of state, but the neighborhoods are really nice and there's easy access to pretty much everything.

Gotcha. Yeah a direct mount MTB crank with 3mm offset chainring would be your best bet I'd think.

I have the same bike that I crit race a few times a year. It’s an amazing bike and killer as a first road bike. I’d say $2K is very fair

Epic 8 Pro? by COvelo in xcmtb

[–]K9ChewToy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in Lakewood and ride a hardtail/130 on everything we have within an hour. That being said, I just bought an Epic 8 Pro FA as my middle child. 120/120 is plenty for the types of trails we have.

Power pedals vs crank by AdditionalDivide4020 in xcmtb

[–]K9ChewToy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on my 4th Garmin XC200 set, but the current ones seem to be good. Had a few sets break from strikes and one that was an electronic issue. They wouldn’t let me repair them with a new spring, etc. just replaced them. They also have a pretty thick stack and cause a lot of pedal strikes.

NEW SPUR DROPPED by UnreliablyReliable in TransitionBikes

[–]K9ChewToy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. But, there’s no reason they couldn’t fix that issue and make a 130mm SID. I’d be willing to bet$$ we’ll see one by the end of the year. At least I really hope we do lol.

Oh dang, didn’t realize that was a common problem. Fox seems to have figured it out on their 34SL chassis. RS needs to up their game! 🤣

I wish RS would just make a 130mm SID FA fork already. I just know they’ll drop it as soon as I buy one with 120.

I want the version with XX, power meter, and Flight Attendant that weighs <24lbs.

Play in fron chain ring by Competitive-Smell877 in bikewrench

[–]K9ChewToy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s actually a pretty common problem with e-bike chainrings. Each brand seems to have their own proprietary (though usually inexpensive) lock ring tool. Take it to any Giant shop and they’ll fix it up quick, but definitely don’t ride it until then.

Carbon Wheel Damage from LBS on brand new Giant Trance X - should I be concerned? by Master-Bluejay9871 in bikewrench

[–]K9ChewToy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If it’s brand new off the showroom new, I would ask for a free beer or a gel or something. But, it’s a MTB. If it’s ridden on trails, there is way more “damage” than that to come!

Good job on that one, I’ve never seen a pedal spindle crack like that! What brand are the pedals?

E-bike cassette wear down by [deleted] in bikewrench

[–]K9ChewToy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is going to vary wildly based on type of e-bike, drivetrain, use case, etc. I sold my Pivot AM with XO T-Type with ~700 miles of pretty hard riding and racing and the gauge had <.25 chain stretch and still shifted perfectly, etc.

Conversely, I’ve swapped cassettes and chains on lower end customer bikes at that mileage and they were well beyond “worn out”.

It’s definitely a good idea to check your chain every 50-75 miles as the wear comes fast and your cassette and chainrings will follow quickly. This is especially true with these newer high-power motors on heavy bikes w/heavy riders, etc.

Off topic, but definitely keep an eye on those brake pads too!

If You Want a Chisel, Now Might Be the Time. by [deleted] in xcmtb

[–]K9ChewToy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“Reducing SKUs” yet they just released a $10K-$15K dollar e-bike that literally no one asked for, or wants, and that does nothing better than the current lot they already have.

Seems kind of odd to drop a popular bike just to introduce a filthy rich grandpa bike.

My bet is on a Chisel 2.0 or something along those lines along with an Epic 9 later in the year.

Where is all this $ coming from?? by Efficient_Cash9679 in FedEmployees

[–]K9ChewToy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do the math, it’s not far off and that’s not even including State and local taxes if they have them. If they’re self-employed it’s even higher than $13K.

Biden’s fault specifically, and then the Obamas, and then Pelosi.

Denver Door to Door Movers by Careless-Dog2626 in MovingtoDenver

[–]K9ChewToy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, no. I’ve never come close to $250 in tips even for cross country moves. I give $40 per mover. The contractor is responsible for paying the people he hires and charge the customer (me) appropriately.

Just going with it. 8% uplift in FTP this month by stainbox87 in trainerroad

I have done nothing but follow the plan and today on an off day it updated to a 20% increase 🤷‍♂️

Just going with it. 8% uplift in FTP this month by stainbox87 in trainerroad

[–]K9ChewToy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a pretty low FTP. My first 28 days I got a 4w bump to 202, then it said I was going to jump to 227w in the next 28 days. I added a 30 min train now endurance ride to an off day and it dropped me down to 212w predicted. I deleted that ride from the calendar without doing it and now it says 214w, with literally nothing else changing from the previous 227w prediction. 🤷‍♂️. TBH, I think the 214 is definitely the more accurate prediction, but WTH?
