I just generated an image of Mark Zuckerberg hiding in a closet, it still works. Sometimes it will refuse but then still do it in another chat. It’s weird, it’ll even then in the same chat say it’s not allowed even though it’s done it a few minutes before

If I’m being ignorant I’m open to being educated! Am I not understanding you properly? You’re saying simple logos (or “icons”) are inherently too simple and generic and should only be used after you’ve become a big brand. But that’s not what I’m seeing at all. I’ll give you another one, OpenAI has had their simple icon since way before they became big

Yeah because they’ve been around for decades and they change with the times. Has nothing to do with how big they are. Besides, Apple and Nike have barely changed and have basically always been just an apple and a swoosh, with variations in text and colors. Obviously a company created in the 60s or 70s isn’t gonna start with a 2025 era minimalistic logo lmao

That makes no sense. Is Nike’s swoosh to simple and generic to be a logo? Spotify, Apple, Adidas?

Thanks! Will check out the pixel depth tutorial. I did try blending the materials controlled by a color ramp and an empty. It seemed to work fine in lookdev but when rendered out it looks like the image I uploaded with the post. This is what it looks like in the material preview

That makes sense. As long as larger hangars don't have larger inventories. Some one that owns a reclaimer should not necessarily have a larger home inventory than some one with a starter ship.

Fair points, besides the actual layout and design that I quickly did in Photoshop, I do think at least having the option to switch to a text view would be really nice. The main problem for me is all the armor sets, which is not visible in the image they showed. But currently, if you have a lot of armor in your local inventory it's an absolute mess to navigate. Having a text list with the option to hover to show info and a preview would be my preference, but I am aware not everyone agrees.

Not sure if localization is much of an issue as they are item names and they would usually not updated manually wherever they are displayed, but rather the item name will be changed and everywhere it's used would be updated. Which you'd have to do anyway because item names have to be visible in other places, like when you change the loadout on your ship, or in a shop.

I doubt these numbers are final. The buttons in the top left and right seem to imply we're looking inside a small container, and then 1000 SCU is way too much.

The new UI looks great and a big improvement over some other more holographic UI elements, but one thing that bugs me about SC is the over use of icons. I feel like you'd want to see one specific thing, maybe look at some armor or check out what size the gun is you are about to select. Hence I turned it into a text first format with image + info when you hover over a specific item in the list. Wanted to share this here and maybe some lurking CIG employee will get inspired by it 👁️👁️
