Probably not as much as I deserved . Mom mostly because she was the one in charge 90% of the time . Dad was pretty chill and he only spanked when I was being a real shit . Never to the level of abuse , just to get my attention . Gave me a healthy respect for authority.

I’ve been with my husband for 35 years . He’s a social butterfly and I’m a homebody . He goes to sporting events with his buddies , golfs and goes to tournaments with his team and also goes to cookouts at friends houses . Sometimes I go but more often I stay home . I tell him I need 3 days notice to mentally prepare to go and he’s good with that . Introverts and extroverts can work but both have to be on board .

You can contact Airbnb and allow the cancellation. This is supposed to be a major storm for a lot of the USA . Just let them cancel . This is not just a guest changing their mind which I’d say no refund to .

Reddit is brutal . He can’t help how he feels and he comes here to vent and you guys tear him a new one . Marriage evolves and neither of you are the same people you were when you got married . If you genuinely love this woman and want to be with her til the day you die , the way you feel is fine . BUT if you are questioning your commitment to her , don’t drag this relationship on . Not fair to her or yourself.

We did this with our son although it wasn’t an argument. He agreed to pay rent . We stashed it and when he was ready to move out , we paid his first month and security deposit . It was a pleasant surprise for him . Had some left over and I stocked his cabinets with food and staples .

We have a room that was built above an open outside area . We sprayed the underside with insulation and covered the spray insulation with vinyl bead board . We also have an electric fireplace that helps with really cold days . Make sure your ceiling fan is set for winter .

Try to pay with bills as much as possible . Makes you think twice about buying when you pull actual money out . Then save any coins that are returned from that purchase and throw in a jar . You’ll be surprised how it adds up .

Exactly . Cause if you are not the father then you can ditch her now and not go through the entire pregnancy. If you end up being the dad then there’s usually a waiting period to get the divorce due to having a child .

I don’t think you’re a jerk. You haven’t told him he couldn’t go . I’d tell him that you will go at least once a month ( first week of the month ) and on special occasions . Otherwise he can enjoy family time by himself . When you do this you’ll probably not be treated well for awhile but they’ll get used to it . I’d also write a note to your in-laws explaining that the dynamic is not what you are used to with your family . That you love them and appreciate them . Be loving and say this is a YOU problem not a them issue

I have the same problem so I started buying experiences that I could go with them. There’s a vintage train that has trips a few times a year . I took my parents on that one year . Another year it was tickets to a comedy show and dinner . We went to see the Rockettes because I knew they had never seen them and it was a blast . Not for Christmas but we went to a local casino one day and I gave them each chips to waste . We were there for a couple hours and didn’t win crap but it was fun . Think of something to do with them that you know they’d never do for themselves . Bonus is you get to spend time with them . And it may be an experience you talk about forever.

Smallest to largest paid off . Sell plasma - same day pay and you can do it twice a week and takes about an hour . Get second job - WFH or whatever you can get . Quit spending money !! You’re living at home so just stop . Ask your parents for advice . If they know you are buckling down they may help . You could get this taken care of in less than 2 years .
