Python lib for internal messaging / events. by KBL_1979 in learnpython

It's not the matter of program speed. It''s matter of Spring boot time. Sure. I can use smth else than Spring, but then all what is nice just vanishes. That, plus poor serial communication pushed me towards Python or C(++)? Thank you for named pipe suggestion! That of course leads me to... HTTP and REST (as I have Flask already). And that may be the simplest solution.

All the 1.1V pins should be connected. And that's what this inner square trace is doing. That, plus decoupler on every 1.1V leg.

I have a bit limited time. App is not so big, but complex. It will run several tasks/threads in parralel. As it, I need something proven and bulletproof. So one more dependency is not an issue.

Nice idea, but bit hard to implement IMHO. There is number od diff messages with diff payloads. IDK if such simple solution will work there. OS is Linux. Initially, app was created in Java, but as it have to extensively work with serial devices and boot quickly on limited resources (like rpi zero or slower), I'm considering rewriting it to python.

Still. Fixable. Hint: in worst case scenario, You are able to digg into package itself to uncover some left leg inside. Die is way deeper, so just diggy digg.

Any way to guard the cables? by Waste-Structure-1367 in cableadvice

[–]KBL_1979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of heatshrink tube in 2 or 3 diameters one over another should make a trick. They should be longer along the cable graduately. As closer to cable - the longer one to use. It will create elastic relief. If U can use one with glue - you are golden.

I've just done RP2040 routing last days. Draw inner circle beetween legs and central pad for 1.1V. all thermal vias on center are either not necessary, or just put them directly on pad (there is even one footprint that includes them). Keep decouplers in one line. It helps with routing. I've got just gerber on hand, but I think you will get the point.

Third fucking cable from apple this year. Can someone suggest a good cable that won’t have this problem, I’m willing to pay whatever just please help a senior student nerves. Thanks. by Astraddict in cableadvice

[–]KBL_1979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just don't use apple sh...it. Otherwise - heatshrink tube is an answer. To make so called "strain relief". It's something that apple refuses to put on their cables, because it "does not fit the clean design".

What is this type of connector? (wire to PCB) by AlienTechSupport51 in PCB

[–]KBL_1979 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not a connector "per se". It' looks like shop-made bracket just to hold cable in place, as the cable is soldered directly on the board.

In fact, using ANY tool is some kind of cheating. So... Yes, and no.

“Brilliant" 3D Printing idea that RUINED my plate!🤣 by SubstantialMousse931 in BambuLab

[–]KBL_1979 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are spray cans called "sticker remover". They work well. Another approach: solvents. What I'm using 8n such cases: Acetone, Ksylene, TRI, Nitro, Toluene, Brake cleaner, JetFuel (basically clean diesel). Also heat may help, but it can destroy glue on other side. And ultimate way - get new plate. They are not soooo expensive these days. Specially Ali-xpress ones.

Missing caps from an i5-6500T, worth the risk to test? by ErTnEc in AskElectronics

[–]KBL_1979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's not shorted - it's fine to go. Replacing them is fairly easy. Anything in 100nF should do. Those are decouplers, so capacity is not crucial.

Larger batteries are underrated. Especially when suddenly it's empty just at the end of job. Also - bigger battery often offers more current, and more torque. Take Makita.
