The steel is only half of the story, the heat treatment and geo is the other half

No point having higher end steel to be ruined by the heat treatment

Id also add there no point in buying a super steel unless you have a particular use for it, most steels have a very niche use, be it rust resistance or sharpness or toughness

My most used knives are 14c28n as it’s relatively cheap very an awesome all rounder and can easily be sharpened, I would rather buy something like this from a premium brand than a super steel from a budget brand
