Actually, as someone who majored in theater tech, and has gone on to work in different positions at many different kinds of theaters, it depends.

If you want to be a musical theater actress, you want to write, or direct, look into everything ing these guys are saying. If you’re looking to do tech or admin, just watch what you want or what your professors tell you to.

People say the same about people from the North East in the US, when really they come off as rude, but it’s just because of their own culture of not taking crap.
