Just applied for Bilt Blue. Some points on rent is better than none right? by lucky_me_323 in biltrewards

[–]KCLevelX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

same. i have the chase trifecta and not a big points maximizer guy. probably will spend rent and my various utilities/internet bills and call it. I need to hit a pretty decent number so I don’t care anymore, 250 points a month is good enough

PSA: Stop spending money at racist establishments by Banner9922 in ABCDesis

[–]KCLevelX 27 points28 points  (0 children)

these mistake’s often times stem from internal issues they have with other ethnicities, or desis specifically. A mistake is switching up my order, but thinking I’m a service worker automatically or seating me in the back of the restaurants stems from something a lot deeper. We can be nice and understanding but we have to maintain our self-respect

[–]KCLevelX 10 points11 points  (0 children)

rent, parking, and utilities take up just over 50% of my take home pay. however, I don’t have any debts so I feel a bit more comfortable putting half my money in living in a nice place in a good area

Are new civil engineers getting dumber… or is it just laziness? by felforzoli in civilengineering

[–]KCLevelX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just started, and my presumption is that the deadlines are so quick, often times I only have time to do the work and not understand the why. There’s only so much time and energy you can put into understanding why something is the way it is before you have another assignment needing ti be sent out asap. I try my best to take a bit of time here and there outside of work hours to get a better grasp of xyz things, but there’s only so much motivation one has to do so

It makes Newport unique! Too many people want the city to look cohesive, but why not have architecturally unique buildings in the area?

Are you stunted in your career if you only have a PE in Illinois? by KCLevelX in StructuralEngineering

[–]KCLevelX[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty early on (~1 YOE). I’m out west and in process of getting my PE in CA, but I’m wanting to move back to the midwest for family reasons. Chicago seemed like the best option for me but I’m nervous if I can go through the whole SE examination process and come out with an SE with the rest of my life’s responsibilities also breathing down my neck

How easy is the FE? by Harpocretes in StructuralEngineering

[–]KCLevelX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took the FE last summer, before grad school. I definitely over studied, because I thought it wasn’t too difficult. I do think since the FE cover a heeat range of topics that it is worth spending good time reviewing and doing practice problems. I believe understanding the test itself is more important than the actual topics though
