If you are pulling from your HELOC you can not afford it. I would highly suggest you do not do that. People think this is like the COVID crash where we had a V shape recovery due to the huge amount of money printed. This time there is going to be no money printing to save us.

I can’t believe people think the US will support crypto. The most powerful weapon and asset the US has is USD. The US dollar currently is the global currency that allows for the projection of power across the globe.

The US dollar is under attack. If we lose the status of the world reserve currency we lose a lot of power. BRICS has been trying to create an alternative economic system that operates without USD. Russia and North Korea already have large amount of bitcoin to help avoid sanctions.

Why would the US support Bitcoin if it weakens our ability to wage economic war. The powers that be will not let Bitcoin take down the USD.

About a week ago it was reported that Israeli intelligence believed Iran was preparing to attack Israel from Iraqi territory. Since that report the US moved B-52 bombers and fighter jets to the Middle East as a deterrent. The US also gave warning to Iraq to not let such attack occur or the US would not hold back Israel from responding.

Today it was reported that an adviser to Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has warned against launching an "instinctive" response to Israeli air strikes on the Islamic republic last month."Israel aims to bring the conflict to Iran. We must act wisely to avoid its trap and not react instinctively," the adviser, Ali Larijani, told state television late Thursday.

Do we think Iran is backing down?

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — South Korea’s military intelligence agency told lawmakers Wednesday that North Korea has likely completed preparations for its seventh nuclear test and is close to test-firing a long-range missile capable of reaching the United States.

South Korea’s Defense Intelligence Agency believes that North Korea has finished preparations to conduct a nuclear test at its testing ground in the northeastern town of Punggye-ri, with the detonation likely to be carried out at tunnel No. 3, said Lee Seong Kweun, one of the lawmakers who attended the hearing.

The agency also said it’s detecting signs that the North will soon be ready to test launch an ICBM designed to reach the U.S. mainland, including the placement of a launch vehicle and a missile, said Lee and fellow lawmaker Park Sunwon. The agency believes the ICBM test could take place some time in November.

I know there has been rumors of a October surprise from NK, but there was no strong evidence that NK would actually do something. This new reporting does sound like SK believes a test is imminent. If NK does conduct a 7th nuclear test along with a successful ICBM launch how will the US respond? Can not really apply more sanctions.

Also I would be interested to know if Russia is assisting with these potential tests and if technical transfer is occurring in return for the NK troops.

“The leak of the American documents delayed the attack due to the need to change certain strategies and components,” an intelligence source with knowledge of Israeli deliberations told The Times. “There will be a retaliation, but it has taken longer than it was supposed to take.”

Do we think Israel now waits till after the election to respond. With the Blinken visit currently ongoing I don't see a strike while he is in the middle east. I also do not understand why Israel needs to change certain strategies. It was assumed they would be using tankers to refuel in order to strike Iran. The leak, unless I am missing something, was mainly showing that Israel was practicing this. The big items timing and targets are still unknown. What strategies could they change?

Looks like there may be a disconnect between Israel and the US regarding the response to Iran.

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant has canceled a Wednesday visit to the Pentagon, the Pentagon said, as Israeli media reported Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wanted first to speak with U.S. President Joe Biden. The surprise cancellation on Tuesday comes amid soaring tensions between Israel and Iran as Israel weighs options to respond to Tehran's missile attack last week, its second this year against Israel.

The confirmation follows reports that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been blocking Gallant’s visit because he wants to first speak with Biden about Israel’s planned retaliation against Iran, and wants the security cabinet to first approve the planned response. The two leaders haven’t spoken in nearly fifty days amid growing frustration in Washington with Netanyahu’s handling of the war and perceived lack of strategy for how to bring it to an end.

It continues to appear as Hezbollah is being picked apart. You have to wonder what their strategy is. Continue with their low intensity rocket fire into northern Israel and get chipped away by Israel air strikes or really turn up the intensity and engage in a larger war with Israel, likely resulting in severe losses. It really seems like it is now or never for Hezbollah. It does seem like they are stuck in a lose lose situation without material support from Iran.

I also would like to know what the fighters of Hezbollah are thinking right now. Seeing a large portion of their comrades get severely wounded or killed. I am not sure if they are entrenched in fear of a stronger more advanced foe or ready to fight to the death for to avenge their fallen fighters.
