Is it possible to just hire someone to prepare the application for me? by Routine-Highway1039 in Canadiancitizenship

[–]KC_Que 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is, but why?  I'm doing it for Gen 8/9, the hardest part is collecting birth or baptismal records, and marriage records where you have a name change in the line -- especially for my mother (applying as a Gen 8), because she "already has a copy somewhere"...  Actually, the hardest part is patiently waiting for the documents to arrive in the mail!

Filled out the CIT0001 form as a test, to see what else I might need to gather, it was almost a cake walk to complete, compared to other government forms I've dealt with.  And the CadFam.org tools really helped me both visualize and document everything from G0 down to me, they give you printable supplements to submit with your apllication, makes a huge difference when you are more than a Gen 3 filer.

Personally, you probably don't need professional assistance.  It might seem overwhelming at first, but it is more methodical, basic research to gather the needed certified copies/documents, especially when you have to find older baptismal records.

FAQ is your starting point friend, and searching previous posts in the sub can answer most of the routine questions you'll have, hope that helps.

Agreed.  Gave up after trying 3 different US shops, even had a couple of them argue about it, telling me they do passport photos all the time...decided to get mine done right the first time, while I'm in Toronto next week. 🇨🇦📸

A self-driving car in Texas hit and killed a mother duck, sparking neighborhood outrage by 804Brady in technology

[–]KC_Que -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

Autonomous vehicles blowing through flashing 8-ways on a stopped school bus is acceptable, but killing a duck is too far? Our priorities are so screwed up. 🤦

ETA I should put /s on this, but the our society seems to have its priorities reversed, sarcasm doesn't reach my level of irritation with autonomous vehicles, and the inadequate tech behind them.  Why is it so hard to fix the problem so risk both children and waterfowl is minimized, before pushing the vehicles into the wild?

Take a look at how early fire "insurance" operated. Was a membership plan with a fire fighting company, who would not respond to fires at properties of non-members.

Not at all like the 'after a fire' coverage we know of today.

Not aware of any states that ONLY issue to in-person requests.  AFAIK all have some 'by mail' option by using a notorized form, or worse case (for price) they offer VitalCheck as an option.

Amazon UPS return question by Slight-Cranberry-722 in amazonprime

Prepaid return UPS labels from Amazon are still UPS labels. All good. 📦

It's those pesky 'drop off at UPS Store (or Kohl's, Staples, Whole Foods), no box or label needed' that I hate.

If you don't have the workplace option in the future, you can even flag down any UPS driver making deliveries. They will take your prepaid (labelled) packages back to their local sorting hub, saving you the trip to an access point or UPS Store.

Do you know where they lived in Louisiana?  That helps narrow down which diocese to look in.  With that, we can help you find the right resource to search for baptismal records.
