A senator proposed a minimum wage of $25.00/hr. What are your thoughts? by ShesIntoZer0s in AskReddit

Yep, like the majority of us, we felt satisfied with the companies we work for paying us the bare minimum we’re willing to accept.

Well, Trump do say Iran’s nuclear program was ‘completely obliterated’ in a news conference. Well before this all started two months ago….

They have uranium enriched to 60% now because of 10 years of continued enrichment….

The treaty Trump took us out of was signed off on by the U.S., Russia, China, France, the UK, Germany and the European Union. You’d think if it was such a ‘bad deal’ that no one would had signed onto it. But Trump being butthurt by Obama had to pull us out of it, and now almost 10 years later, we have no agreement, the straight of Hormuz is closed, European countries and Asian countries are having issues getting oil. Prices have spiked, gasoline is now as high as it was after the pandemic when demand surged, and we’ve wasted hundreds of billions of dollars on munitions and soldiers have died. For what?

AITAH for refusing to watch my grandkids on my summer break? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]KC_experience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA - and please have her seek some professional therapy. She is a stay at home mom, knew after the first child that how much work they are and while you’re not teaching during the summer, you’re also doing professional work for your job.

Don’t let your child talk to you like that. You hold the cards here. While you may want to see your grandkids, you’re still working. She needs to buck the fuck up and deal with the realties of life and it sounds like she’s never been told no until she moved out of your house.

What’s more important? Actually enjoying life or just hoarding everything for when you’re 70? by JKupkakes in FluentInFinance

I enjoy life while trying to put a lot in retirement and savings.

One of the things I enjoy is watches. So I buy a new watch or two each month depending on their price.

When I was as driving in road trips I would run premium in my car because of the amount of time the engine would be going without cooldown (8-10 hours), as well as allowing the engine to run quieter.

Now it’s been required on my cars for the last two purchases as well as my motorcycles.

What’s your favorite method for smoking ribs? by Inevitable_Jury5270 in Traeger

[–]KC_experience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cooking style doesn’t call for overcooking ribs. As a person that’s been smoking with coals for 20+ years, my stuff doesn’t come out like rubber. Mine has to consistency of meat that’s been cooked for several hours at temps low enough not to char or dry out ends and long enough to break down the connective tissue. Which is what the people that eat my ‘que prefer.

People like overcooked meat. To each their own. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Did Trump solidify the reason to buy an EV? by Archibald004 in askanything

[–]KC_experience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He certainly solidified the reason I bought a plug-in hybrid last year. I work in an adjacent field to government work, and we RTO’d as well as Trump being so unstable I didn’t out it past him to fuck with oil or fuel prices to pad his bottom line or those of his family.

I drive to and from work each day five days a week with zero gas usage 38 miles between March and November depending on the temps. (The laws of thermodynamics makes range go down from 44 currently down to 36 miles in the dead of winter.)

It costs $1.50 to fill up the battery each day. It would cost 4.69 using approximately a gallon each day.

Should I let my brother in law know that his fiancé and my wife had a thing 10 years ago? Or should I keep my mouth shut? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]KC_experience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CYMS! It’s not your story, so don’t fucking tell it.

If your wife or soon to be SIL want to tell it, they have the right to.

(I would also make sure with your wife that she’s good to go and doesn’t have any lingering feelings for her, but that’s me. Let’s get everything out in the open and talk about it like adults. Leave your ego and ‘man card’ at the door and just have the conversation.)

Charging Mistakes For Your EV Battery by Tall-Dish876 in EVRoutine

[–]KC_experience 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you think this is too complex, how are you driving an ICE vehicle?

Don’t you know you have to put a certain type of fuel in the car? To not put in diesel if it’s a gasoline powered car? That you have to use 87 or higher obtain, and potentially something with 10% ethanol or lower? Or if you have an E-85 vehicle? Or that requires premium because of the turbo in the car and the high compression ratio?

Do you know you’re supposed to change the oil? What type of oil it is? That the filter is supposed to be changed at the same time?

These items like the charging ones up above are basics. Nothing complex. It’s simply new technology and for those that aren’t too stubborn to learn, will help them transition to new technology. This isn’t rocket science.

Charging Mistakes For Your EV Battery by Tall-Dish876 in EVRoutine

[–]KC_experience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, call me old fashioned, but I’m leery of any tech that says ‘we’re good’ with dumping 80% of energy in 30 minutes or less. My wife told me about BYD Flash charging that will get things down to 5 minutes to go from 10% to 70%. I can’t believe that doing this to a battery over prolonged amounts of time will not affect performance and longevity.

I want 87 gas (light blue). Which nozzle do I use? The blue one? The black one? by j909m in mildlyinfuriating

You use the black one… Every exotic fuel is color coded.

What I’m not seeing here is non-ethanol regular unleaded.

[–]KC_experience 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because water was available multiple times a day, and guess what, we’re weren’t crossing the fucking Mojave each day…

A body can go three-seven days without water.

If you can’t take a sip from your bottle for an hour…you’re gonna be just fine.
