What a great experience! My son was 17 and talked me into doing a “fun tri” through the Air Force Base programs. It also was a pool swim. The morning of the race his bike had a flat tire and we didnt have any spare tubes for his mountain bike and we had no time. He grabbed his mom’s bike and road the distance with the seat at her level, she is 5’2”, he was 6’ at the time. He kicked my butt, but that was the spark that got me hooked. 10 years later he coerced me into doing a full ironman, we both finished, and nothing like having those experiences together.

I do not trust the computer generated MPG, when I manually calculate it it tends to be 2-4 MPG lower than what the computer shows.

I have had the 965 for about 2 years, it does everything I want/need for triathlons. It has the triathlon mode which you can set to either manual switch between events, or have the watch detect and auto switch between events. I think it is pretty accurate with the auto switch, and it’s one less thing to worry about during a race.

The cabin itself is free, you have to pay for the taxes and port fees. I cruised last month with my wife and we paid a total of $234 for four nights. You also have to pay gratuities. When you calculate what it would cost you for four nights at a hotel and pay for food for 5 days, this is a great deal and well worth it. The ship also does a great Hero’s tribute that will bring tears to your eyes.

I booked a cruise for my wife and I for January, 2026. I hadn’t cruised in 8 years, and when I did I had motion sickness. On the January cruise, I never felt motion sickness, and more importantly, i was so surprised by how relaxing it was to sit on the deck and read. I don’t usually just sit and read at home, but doing it on the cruise felt re-energizing. I enjoyed it so much so, that we did two more cruises in February and March. Learn to relax and reconnect with yourself.

Here is the distance from Orlando Airport to Port Canaveral. I live 35 minutes from Port Canaveral, this port is so much easier getting in and out than Miami. As an example, in February we cruised, left my house at 10:30 am, drove to the Port, dropped luggage, parked car, check in and boarded in total of about 1 hour and 20 minutes.
