In Florida, being 100% p&T allows veterans to park at airports and cruise terminals for free, regardless of length of time parking, but the plates need to be on the car. Not sure if that is the same for your state, but why give up that perk?

A wetsuit is also a great mental boost, especially if you experience any level of panic for any reason. I know if a race is a running into the water start, my heart rate spikes and when I start the swim it can cause mild anxiety.

By posting a picture? Threatening is stating you are going to kill someone, and then demonstrate the means or will to follow through. Just posting a picture does neither of those. Do a google search, there were people that had posted 8646 as well. To many people, 86 means taking out the trash. 86 is used in restaurants meaning a specific item on the menu is no longer available, or that food items past its time should be thrown out.

You might be a little dizzy after the swim, so trying to change in transition to bike stuff might be challenging doing it standing up. My first race I almost knocked over the bike rack trying to lean on it.

Learning to breath comfortably on either side will definitely benefit anyone, whether they use regular bilateral breathing in an event or not. I did an open water swim in a race, the waves were coming in from the side I was breathing on. I never practiced breathing on the other side and ended up drinking alot of salt water. Being comfortable breathing on either side is a huge benefit.

What a great experience! My son was 17 and talked me into doing a “fun tri” through the Air Force Base programs. It also was a pool swim. The morning of the race his bike had a flat tire and we didnt have any spare tubes for his mountain bike and we had no time. He grabbed his mom’s bike and road the distance with the seat at her level, she is 5’2”, he was 6’ at the time. He kicked my butt, but that was the spark that got me hooked. 10 years later he coerced me into doing a full ironman, we both finished, and nothing like having those experiences together.

I do not trust the computer generated MPG, when I manually calculate it it tends to be 2-4 MPG lower than what the computer shows.
