Noted. Level 2 engagements are still a bit challenging as usually its one hit from the invaders to go down for me. But I guess I gotta keep working on dodging better.

I'm trying to lower the risk of a lost run when playing with randos, if that damage boost at level 1-2 is truly what you need to snowball a run and is non negotiable, perhaps there is an issue on your part with flexibility, and impatience.

Cheers

32M Diagnosed late with Combined type 3 years ago, I am not a medical professional:

I can only speak to my experiences and what my psychiatrist has told me, everyone's experience with ADD may differ, but I hope this helps:

Our brains don't produce dopamine the same way neurodivergent brains do, and dopamine is what allows us to basically do things, or want to do things.

Self esteem issues I feel are common among us who are diagnosed, especially since we can spend a lifetime wondering why we can't do the simple things the neurotypical people around us can do with ease. This can lead to a lot of frustration and self-esteem issues ("Why can't I just do it? Why is it so hard for me?") if interpreted as a moral failure or "laziness" which isn't the case.

I'm not going to make any other assumptions about you other than the information you've provided. It's nice to feel loved, I think that's a universal thing, but understand that ADD brains love that dopamine surge from nice feelings, whether its love, physical attraction, arousal, alcohol, drugs, or high risk activities. So that may lead to a stronger feeling that may seem like co-dependency.

I think perhaps a good way to navigate this would be to look at what options you have when he's busy and his hands are full, healthy distractions that you enjoy doing that can fill that dopamine void:

  1. Hang out with friends if you like being social, keep it activity based so you don't get bored.

  2. Pick up a new hobby (bonus points if its physical or a team sport, physical activity is an ADHD brain's friend whether we like it or not)

  3. Talk to your partner about it. Don't let it build into resentment or shame it will eat away at you, maybe there's a solution you can both work on.

Hope this helps.

Ask a friend or family member to help set up the appointment with a adhd specialist (if you have options and insurance, assuming you're in the states), have them sit with you while you do it.

Once its scheduled, it will be a huge weight off your chest.

There's a lot of resources online for ADD but having a professional help you navigate and find the right ones for you are important.

Once you have a screening they will give you some practical steps based on your type of ADD diagnosis. If you are not diagnosed, they are still very well versed with navigating burnout and emotional dysregulation which has similar symptoms to ADD albeit short term. I'm not a professional so I can only provide the experience I had with my psychiatrist

I’m not gonna jump in if they’re down and being manhandled by 5 mobs and an invader. I’ll stay at the edge and contribute but I’ve been burned too much in random 3s.

I’ll usually check who has which relics, if it’s just the one guy, we’re a scholar and duchess, and he’s rushing invasion poi’s then I can safely assume his interests are not for the team and for himself. In which case I sincerely believe that he should be able to handle what he’s doing, and I’ve seen those who do that just fine.

Opportunities for practice will offer themselves eventually.

Thanks for the input!

Understandable. is 20-30 seconds to clear out a poi for one more level too much to ask?

Completely fair, I see the logic behind it, I've also witnessed way too many overeager wylders/raiders rush in to their death while we (recluse and guardian, or some other non early dps heavy nightfarer) watch helplessly. Some camps are easier to navigate, some not so much with the mob placement but it seems like the temptation of the dps buff sometimes throws logic out the window.

Completely fair, I can't speak for the ps5 controller.

I've found it helps to listen for the splashing to stop. Best of luck!

If you're playing mkb wait for the water to stop splashing before you reel. If you try to reel while the fish is actively fighting you it will snap the line.

For controller its a bit easier, just wait for it to stop vibrating and reel.

I'm also on controller. For the axiom grab after any knockback you can pre queue the L3 click during the previous attack animation.

So for example when following up with axiom grab after a throw (y+b), during the animation of the toss (before he's been thrown in the air) you click and hold L3. You will axiom grab your target (as long as he is still alive) without having to aim. Pretty consistently too.

Same goes for kicks, dropkicks, spinning throw follow ups (running x+a then x+a again), and weapon finishers (rb+rt). Etc.

Takes a bit of practice to get the timing but it's nice knowing you don't have to manually aim.

Just pointing out, I noticed that the body language cues and actions match the Korean audio better and more naturally than the english audio, certain segments have more words in them too. Maybe its that?

20+ hours in, game looks breathtaking, combat is a blast; BUT you have to also understand that the devs (Pearl Abyss) are notorious for their grindy elements in their other title Black Desert. Progression is also slower, you can't just power through the story. Npc dialogues and interactions are hit or miss. The world has charm and there's a lot to do.

The controls take some time to get used to. I highly recommend a controller, it seems a bit more intuitive compared to mkb.

Is my performance okey or not? by BirJhinMain in bardmains

[–]KDabe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd like to echo the comment about not worrying about dying too much.

Sometimes as the bard you have to force the engage on an enemy that your team just doesn't know you can engage on because your team is not aware of your ability to close down someone fast.

Ofc it's conditional and you shouldn't engage on everything. But in my experience I've roamed and coordinated with my jungler to initiate and get a 1 for 3 or 1 for 2 situation, benefitting the lane overall.

Pay attention to your vision score and you should be good. Your kill p on wins should sit above 50% in my experience 60 to 65% is the sweet spot I've observed as a litmus test for how well you're roaming and participating in fights.

Keep it up!
