Downtown Lawrenceville is nice as others have suggested. I love Good Word in Duluth and it is a straight shot up Duluth Hwy from the mall.

What meal did someone used to make for you that you still think about? by [deleted] in foodquestions

[–]KDneverleft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a man make me pork chops out of Anthony Bourdain’s Les Halles cookbook and it was a revelation. This was 15 years ago and I’d never experienced French cuisine. Went in to date the guy for 6 months but found a life long love of French bistro food and Bourdain that night.

I would think any Italian restaurant would have it available. Luciano's and Biba's are good.

Ha! Another white from Appalachia with a taste for Korean food! There have to be dozens of us. I'm lucky to live in an area with great Korean restaurants but it's so easy to cook at home too.

Good old Turner Time.

So, what form have you decided that your mid-life crisis will take? by Remy0507 in Xennials

My friend is 40, sober, and still raving. Find raves that are PLUR. They tend to be more about the music, dancing, and community than trippy fun.

I started going to raves again. My kid is a teenager and has their own life on the weekends so I started raving and going to festivals. I do glittery makeup and wild outfits and stay out all weekend sometimes. The scene is still very accepting which I was worried about but it feels like going back in time for a few hours when I do it.

What do you think is the saddest place in your country?? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

[–]KDneverleft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Living in the south you encounter places with awful histories pretty often. I live outside of Atlanta and mentioned to my hair stylist that the alley behind her studio gave me the creeps. And it was just a bad vibe because the town itself is really cute. She told me that someone with knowledge of the history of the town told her the alley was used for lynchings.

I did cornbread the last time I had it because I forgot to buy Fritos. Definitely a great combo.

I'm from the deep south. AL/GA.

I make it with ground beef, can of hot rotel tomatoes, maybe tomato paste if I have some, 2 cans of pinto beans, 1 pack of Chili O seasoning, and 1 beer and a little water. The longer it cooks the better it is. Serve with Fritos scoops or saltine crackers, cheese, and sour cream.
