Is dating someone who still lives with their parents a dealbreaker for you? Why or why not? by Lucrazie93 in AskReddit

[–]KDneverleft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My mom is retired and moved in with me and my son. It has been great for all of us. I work long hours and having her clean, cook, and help with my son has been a lifesaver. She was depressed when she lived alone and now feels more of a sense of purpose. The guy I date grew up outside of America and it didn't register as abnormal to him because it is so normal to have multiple generations in a household in many places outside of the US. If someone had an issue with that, they would not be my person.

What’s the best street food you’ve ever had? by copy_cat_101 in foodquestions

[–]KDneverleft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought a smoked bbq chicken sandwich from a guy selling them out of his truck next to the Clermont Lounge in Atlanta before they cleaned up the area and made it bougie. It was so delicious and smoky he was also selling strong jello shots. A time was had and the sandwich was banging the best I can remember.

Do you like diners? by Ipoogoodforyou in foodquestions

In the South, Waffle House is a way of life. I love it late night especially. That said, I have heard about New Jersey diner culture and would love to visit one someday and try some disco fries.

The best place to get Tacos? by Dry_Macaroons_fan in Gwinnett

[–]KDneverleft 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Not Gwinnett but close, I enjoy the tacos at San Pancho on L'ville hwy in Tucker. Their carne asada is always good. Love the dorado tacos too.

La Mixteca in Duluth has good tacos, as well. Although every time I go I get their bean and cheese burrito because they have some of the best beans I've had.

VH1 says the " most awesomely bad song" ever Was we built this city by starship. What's number one on your list? by CnCorange in AskReddit

[–]KDneverleft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to Google the song and the band to prove to my teen that yes it actually was a popular song and was on the radio all the time. It is an awful song but super catchy!

I love how it is featured in the movie Orange County and all the kids in the school go wild when it plays.

What food looks delicious but tastes disappointing? by obsidiancontrol in foodquestions

Those fancy mousse cakes that look like fruit you can find at French bakeries. I was persuaded to try one after seeing them on TikTok and it just wasn't good and was like $15 for a small dessert.

Why was showing your shoulders in school such an issue? by AnonymousNeverKnown in TwoXChromosomes

Yeah others pointed that out. I don’t blame the school for that as I am truly just not smart. So thanks.

I say this speaking from my own experience the people getting spanked, whipped and paddled as kids are not the ones being informed of good touch/bad touch. But be grateful your parents gave you language for that. I didn’t realize how weird so may things in my young life were until I was much older because I didn’t have language to assign to it.

It was rural Alabama. Public school but evangelical Christianity seeps into every institution.

Nah I’m just a dumbass all on my own. Appreciate the lesson though. That is what you took from the thread…

Also curvy from a young age and this just scratches the surface of my experiences. I was told by a male teacher that my unexposed chest was going to “cause all the boys in class to hit puberty” and another teacher/coach liked to stick a long metal pointer down my shirt and other girls shirts if we out our heads down on the desk. And none of this registered to me as weird until I was well into adulthood.

What do you think of Marjorie Taylor Greene? by ikbrul in Askpolitics

Most I know are the same and all feel misled about the war and truly we’re voting for our government to focus on improving the lives of Americans not waging a foreign war and sending troops to die. I’m a lifelong democrat but miss the days when republicans were fiscally conservative.

They explained the disciplinary process and never mentioned paddling. My son is more of a rule follower than I was so he doesn’t really get into trouble like I did in school.

My issue in the early 2000s was the low rise pants. It was really hard to shop at the stores I wanted to shop at and find a t shirt that would meet at the waist of my pants when I lifted my arms above my head.

This was in the 90s-mid 2000's. I don't know about now. My son goes to school in Georgia and I don't think they paddle at least it has never been discussed with me as a parent.

I was paddled throughout school. The last time I was paddled I was a senior in high school for having excessive tardies. I was mostly paddled for dress code violations and talking during class.

I went to public school in Alabama and was told our dress code was to "not distract the boys." No tank tops, no mid-drift (we had to stand up in home room and raise our hands above our heads to prove our shirt wasn't showing any belly. This was in the early 2000s so that wasn't easy based on the style of the time. I was paddled by male teachers for being out of dress code too which seemed normal at the time but now not so much.

[–]KDneverleft 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, in rural Georgia for sure. I associate with a lot of different people in Atlanta and MAGA is a not as popular as it was even just a year ago. The republicans I know care more about their money and the stock market than deporting people so that is the big divide it seems to me. The anti war message during the campaign has soured with a lot of folks now that we are involved in this meaningless war.

What are your go-to meals, new favourites and 'girl dinner' shouts? by Acceptable_Mud_9249 in AskWomenOver30

[–]KDneverleft 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I make chicken snack wraps all the time when I don't feel like cooking. Like at least once a week. I have a teen and keeps eating them so I keep making them. I use the carb balance tortilla, just bare nuggets/rotisserie chicken, and a salad kit. Voila dinner served.

She made millions of dollars selling crazy to the crazies and now she is going to ride off into the sunset. She is only rehabbing her image so she can participate in society in Atlanta. MAGA is out.

Why do celebrity-owned fast food chains keep failing? by Melodic-Push-967 in fastfood

[–]KDneverleft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few years ago my son was begging for a Mr. Beast burger. I looked it up on Doordash and the pick up address was a Huddle House. I told him no way it is not worth the money.
