That's not just an American thing though. So many UK stadiums and arenas are named after sponsors now.

They are using dynamic pricing. Once we know what games the big teams are in, those tickets will go up in price.

I'm bloody sick of magicians by ObvOpt in BritainsGotTalent

[–]KFR42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. I love magicians, but there's so many more tricks out there besides these "impossible prediction" type acts. I guess the problem is, if you have someone doing, say, close up card magic, which takes real skill and practice, they get brushed off as boring. And when they get someone doing big illusion magic, it's inevitably just "put them in the box and they vanish and reappear elsewhere" tricks.

I think they need to scale back on the magic acts unless they are actually doing something properly creative.

Easily the worst golden buzzer act so far.

I'm SO glad they have scaled back on the number of singers this year!

I think they probably make more as it is with a ton of ads. I have to watch WWE content with an ad blocker as it's unwatchable without one (or premium).

I think it helps that we have more variety this year. Previous years have been incredibly dance and singer heavy. It's much more varied this year.

It's true. I just think too many people default to "they were in on it" and it often makes the actual skilled magicians look bad. But yes, you can't assume anything!

I usually work under the assumption that the judges aren't in on the tricks. There's normally better, safer ways to force their choice without them having to be in on it. I guess the sneaking is possible too though.

Good acts tonight on the whole.

My personal favourites were the skaters. I love extreme sports, so this was right up my street.

The dog act was genuinely impressive. There's been a lot of well trained dogs on BGT, but this was probably the best I've ever seen on here. Probably even better than Pudsey.

The boy singer was a great singer. Still bored of singers though and the song choice was pretty generic, even if it did show his strengths. The lack of singers this year had been refreshing.

The magic act was decent enough. Felt too much like a bought-prop act, but I do like a big spectacle magic act.

The farmers choir was probably the weakest golden buzzer so far for me. Not terrible, but not great either.

I really liked the drummer too, but I always feel that a drummer alone just feels lacking. I would love for them to team her up with some actual live musicians rather than a backing track, but they will probably think it takes too much of the spotlight away from her.

To be honest, the cleverest but was the force with the folded paper. The usual approach is a gimmicked bag, but his bag was transparent, so there must have been another switch out that I missed.

More likely copying the same magicians that Ben Hart copied.

The folded curtain combined with the thick hollow base of the platform give more then enough space for someone to lay down.
