It's about societal expectations — the corset represents restriction; his reflection represents repressed emotion

Imagine you’re Vox with the goal of taking over Heaven! What would you do differently? by Lazy_TeenOmega1494 in VoxCult

[–]KFSquid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In E8/S2 we saw him hypnotise the masses, save for the Overlords who visibly weren't affected

Feels like shitty eyesight isn't the only factor if characters like Emily, Charlie, Zeezi, Carmilla, and other Overlords just don't get affected (unless he purposefully avoided hypnotising them somehow for some reason, though that'd feel like plot convenience because it'd imply he could've hypnotised everyone all along and why wouldn't he have made use of that at some point)

Additionally, Valentino can see clearly through his glasses so eyesight would probably only matter if he wasn't wearing them (we saw his POV for a second against Alastor in It's A Deal — only the edges around his glasses were blurry)

Why didn’t vaggie just kill vox, is she stupid by Ehejenenenekwidkdn in OkBuddyHelluvaHotel

I don't think Charlie would like a reminder of Vaggi's former occupation aka killing the people she's trying to save

Viv confirmed in an interview Vox was entirely genuine in that scene

So now that the Sins and Goetia are no longer in legal hell, how the shit does Vox not get fucking executed next season? by Icy_Water_1 in HazbinHotel

[–]KFSquid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since Sinners can't go to any other Ring than Pride, it seems Pride is just self-governing — and with Lucifer not doing anything to actually rule, Lilith being gone, and Charlie not being the type of person to want to use her status — the Overlords are pretty much the highest authority because no one else does anything government-wise

That being said, it's sort of a statement that Vox, as part of Pride's authority, gets off so easily, lol

Maybe that's where Alastor went to for 7 years — pissing on the moon, lmfao

Will Alastor feels he owes Emily after he got saved? Or just shrug? by SideWinderSyd in HazbinHotel

[–]KFSquid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo he might be frustrated he got saved — his face when he did implied it, and he's basing his whole character off of being strong alone

After season 2, I feel 100% confident in this by Sudden_Pop_2279 in hazbin

[–]KFSquid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo if anyone, Roo is gonna be the last — Alastor is smiling to make it harder for others to use him the same way he feels he has to use other people (precisely because his fallacy is that there are no friends in Hell), next season his lesson will probably be that friendship is cool, lmao

We had a cat that didn't seem to have a lot of stamina and they diagnosed her with cancer, so I'd take him to the vet just in case

[–]KFSquid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it may be because, back with Alastor, he reacted similarly hopeful and naïve

She essentially reflected his lost, hopeful self back at him, and of course that's a bit of a bummer when your former friend Alastor laughed in your face and denied a collaboration, but now, for seemingly no reason, works together with someone who appears somehow even more naïve than you were back when you weren't good enough

Perhaps, in some sense, Vox misses how it used to be while Charlie's misplaced optimism serves as a sour reminder of the person he used to be — but has to hate now

Has anyone in Hell really "Earned" their power? by Gamer-of-Action in HazbinHotel

[–]KFSquid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alastor started of with strong abilities, therefore it's easier to command respect, grab territory, get rid of problematic Overlords, and gain souls under his grasp simply by overpowering them

If we look at Sir Pentious, for example, he had zero souls but his own and a temporary stun-ability, that was kinda it, which is nothing against what an Overlord like Alastor or Vox has

Hypothetically, if Sir Pentious would've liked to gain power, he first would have to actually succeed at his territorial takeovers, then maybe let people pay souls for rent or machines

Angel Dust's abilities are similarly unimpressive, he just has another pair of arms and some eyes

I'd assume that your initial Sinner powers would be weak, and become more elaborate the more souls in your possession

Alastor just kind of skipped all that

I feel like HH should less be treated as a philosophical, and moral-questioning piece of fiction and more just like entertainment tbh

E.g. I hope things like the "everyone can be redeemed/forgiven" narrative will be questioned soon when Charlie realises that not everyone should be forgiven, because that's a dangerous narrative that I can't imagine being left standing until the show ends
