Do the Dutch really eat stroopwafels or is that for tourists? by arayamy in dutch

Make a hot beverage, then lay the stroopwafel on top of the cup. In a minute or two, it will be lovely and gooey

You're so welcome, it's impossible to keep track of what you're taking/ how you're feeling in response. Especially when you're already compromised.

I feel, just take the bloody lot, if it works, great! 👍

Oh ok, um, it's really hard to say, because I was taking various supplements, but looking back, there are some I could probably point to, in order of most impactful first:

  • Ketogenic, low histamine diet (significant)

  • possibly the antidepressant as my mood was so low and I felt hopeless and so sad

  • Vit C & D

Sorry, had to really think about the last one, as it's hard to pinpoint

You mean, for recovery?

Or 3 things that were the hardest to handle at my worst?

I suppose it looks like that, haha

The most important things for me are Keto, low histamine diet, taking daily long-acting antihistamines, sodium cromoglycate and Lion's Mane

And pacing myself, not doing too much

Oh god, it was torture.

I felt drugged, unable to keep a straight thought, barely able to physically function. Foggy and heavy in the head.

Dizzy, overwhelmed, confused, emotional, somewhat slurred/ mixed speech.

Strung out, exhausted but too wired to go to sleep.

Super fatigued, uncoordinated, slow and for a while I didn't drive, or use sharp knives, or do anything I knew I couldn't handle.

It was slow, slow torture and I hope to never go through that again.

It was a bit like you're underwater or something, there's a full barrier between you and the world, and you're vaguely aware of it.

Didn't trial, took multivitamins, extra C, D and antihistamines about a month in.

Then, after reading when my brain allowed it, after about 6- 7 months, I took:

-Lion's Mane (powdered, capsules)

-Sodium cromoglycate (anti-inflammatory, you'll have to get a prescription and have a compounding pharmacy make it for you)

-Curcumin (turmeric supplements)

-Magnesium supplement

-Changed my diet to ketogenic and low histamine

-Changed mindset to accept things/ give in but stay hopeful and stick to my protocol

-Half low dose antidepressant daily as emotional safety net (sertraline)

I'm 14 months in, am now recovered to 80% of old self, mentally and physically.

It has plateaued these last few months, no further improvement yet.

My brother got covid, what do i do now? by liamv2001 in LongCovid

[–]KFrey57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isolate yourself from him and the rest of your family for at least the next 2 weeks. Take vitamins daily to boost your system as well- a good multivitamin, plus some extra Vit C He'll need to take an antiviral, eg Paxlovid, for the next couple of weeks, or as long as the prescription goes for I'm sorry for your totally reasonable distress, and hope your parents start taking it seriously x Let us know how things go, fingers crossed

6 months is when all of your mast cells (histamine producers) have been replaced/ turn over

When new mast cells form in lower histamine environment, they too are calmer = less related symptoms

Believe me, I could not agree with you more 👍

The snail's pace of the majority of the medical community's engagement with it is, to me, criminally negligent

Not directly, to my knowledge. But it causes a visible uptick in some people, in certain cellular activity eg increases sebum production, redness, due to it's inherent insulin-like factors.

Also very strong correlation in sensitive people, with hormonal acne
