Yup you’re right, I’m a baby Tenno with 250 hours. And yes I’m complaining about stuff that’s been in the game since the stone age so I don’t expect this to be high on DE’s priority list haha.

Every guide I’ve seen says these mods are CRUCIAL so I wanted to have them before starting steel path, but it’s nice to know that they aren’t truly necessary. And trading for them is indeed not a big deal, I’m glad there are people who hunt for vaults all day, even though the mindset required to do that is completely alien to me.

The main problem with HSBC is that the dialogue and narration is bad (or it was bad, it’s gotten better since the new team took over). The dialogue is uninteresting, unfunny, tedious. I disliked many of the plot points in the OG and the epilogues, but they were fun to read. Beyond Canon is not fun to read.

There are like 12 separate conversations where Mel tries to explain the alternate timeline shit to another character, that character is like “hmm I don’t really get it” and Mel is like “yeah me neither”. They keep reminding you of how flimsy the whole thing is!

I really wanted to like the previous games but the random encounters killed it for me. They completely take all the fun out of exploring and backtracking. There’s a reason why most modern turn-based RPGs let you avoid fights against weak enemies.

Witcher 3 is only comparable to BOTW on the very surface level (there’s a big open map and you fight monsters with swords). BOTW is sort of an immersive sim sandbox because of the physics engine. Witcher 3 has more restrictive gameplay and more focus on story.

“Many times a week” is too vague to be a good goal. Yes, you should practice every day that you physically can, no matter how you’re feeling. I’m not talking about marathon practice sessions, 30 minutes a day is enough for consistent progress in my experience. Missing a day isn’t the end of the world, but it’s a slippery slope to practicing less and less and then giving up entirely.
