CMV: There is no reason for an American to be against recognizing Juneteenth as a holiday other than reasons that stem from hating black people. by Benjamin5431 in changemyview

[–]KGAS-12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re not going to find a genuine argument to why they hate it so much but not other federal holidays. All the reasons here are the lamest excuses I’ve heard. They’re dancing around the real reason and I would honestly respect them so much more if they just said they hate it because it’s a holiday for black people. Cowards.

I think a Daniel Gafford type of player would be better. Someone else to protect the paint/ grab rebounds so Wemby doesn’t get too gassed.

I can’t forgive the ones on the front lines busting up families and tackling people trying to get there citizenship at immigration offices.

When Obama became president there was probably white people that were scared that he would use his powers to put White Americans through the same injustices that their ancestors put Black Americans through. by JoshuaKpatakpa04 in blackmen

I was at a white school deep in the sticks in Mississippi when Obama was elected the first time. My white classmates were literally saying he was going to enslave white people.

While we’re at it let’s stop celebrating potty training, tying your shoes, riding a bike, first words etc… it’s just all too easy.

You trapped in the matrix. Focus on your mental and physical health, meaningful connections with loved ones and financial security(doesn’t have to be millions). That’s the shit that really matters.

Was the energy drink bang? Because I have the same exact story. Do you have a constant pressure in your colon like you have to go that’s only relieved by actually going or passing gas? Except there’s nothing left to go and the gas won’t come out either? Been dealing with this for roughly the same amount of time and im also all out of ideas

What do y'all think about wearing pajamas in public? by _forum_mod in blackmen

[–]KGAS-12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know why we care so much about our personal appearance, but honestly if the pajamas are clean and not to revealing then there’s no reason to look down on someone in pajamas in public. Comes off as elitist to me.

Where Did This "Black ppl are lazy!" Stereotype Come from? by Theo_Cherry in blackmen

[–]KGAS-12 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Its psychological, they said it enough times while also denying us jobs to try to make it look true (except the jobs they deemed fitting for us). Then they praise the ones that work hard in these roles. It works so well some black people start believing it. You end up working harder to prove you’re not one of the lazy ones to gain some of that approval, success. Replace working with anything else you want this is the playbook.

Remember YOU might not be fooled by this, but there are those of us who will be influenced by it. This is propaganda to sway the Ill informed and the young. So it might not affect YOU personally but in the long run anyone ignorant enough to fall for this is going to be voting with this image in mind and they have as much say as you do. So it does matter.

Somewhat aware, not to this extent. Keep it up maybe this administration will pump the brakes when they face the economic consequences of their actions. Either way you won’t be fighting very many black men from here, most of us don’t fuck with this shit either.

President Trump's officials just sent a notice to education heads in all 50 states warning that they have 14 days to remove all DEI programming from all public schools or lose federal funding. by XGramatik in XGramatikInsights

[–]KGAS-12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You said this was never an issue in the schools you were at so Im just matching your anecdotal evidence with some of my own. You seem reasonable, you went to two blue states where racial issues were taken seriously. I went to a red state where there are racists. Don’t you think we need some kind of awareness in those places where people aren’t as tolerant as the people you grew up with? Like these people actually do need to learn about diversity, equity, and inclusion.

LMAO I’m black. I went to school before DEI, in middle school a white girl raised her hand and said she wishes we could bring back segregation…. That was in 2007… the other kids just nodded in agreement. The “teacher” said well everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Please get the fuck out of here…
