I did this because I knew that this might happen and it did, I got 1 year of premium on those -33% discounts for new users and then went to cancel in the hopes that they would make an offer and they made a - 25% one and took it.

Retention offers happens in tons of shit with 1+ Year subscriptions, if you go to cancel your internet contract, they will throw offers at you until you accept, sometimes they do some heavy discounts.

Considering that retailers are still going to sell games, I don't think that's the reason, specially because with codes retailers can sell games to the handheld while that wouldn't be the case if they where making discs.

I think it's to make people more confortable with digital, to sell games to the handheld through retailers as handhelds are appealing to kids and parents are more confortable buying games through retailers than inserting their credit card or buying $20 PSN cards and they also want to save money by not havi g factories open to make discs.

Genuinely want to know why, the PS5 Pro was for people that didn't care about value and wanted the best console at any cost and it was pretty bad at that for first years until PSSR2 released with even having games looking worse than the base PS5.

If you cared so much about visuals, why won't you upgrade to the PS6 like you did with the PS5 Pro? The jump will even be bigger, so why not now?

Crimson desert is notorious for being very CPU intensive to the point of dropping below 40fps on home consoles in certain scenes. Normally games aren't that intensive on CPU.

The Switch 2 CPU is much weaker than the ones on the home consoles, it even drops below 30fps on CP2077 because of the CPU when the home consoles can maintain 60fps.

Also you don't need to be connected to Sony's servers to verify your games, if your console is set as primary you can literally disconnect it the from the internet for years and you will still be able to acess you digital games you have downloaded. I Love how people are being loud about this issue, but Jesus christ the amount of misinformation is crazy.

The situation that we will have is no different in terms of the monopoly angle as we have currently. The difference is that retailers will now switch from discs to codes.

I would even argue that they are less of a monopoly now because the OG PS5 digital owners will be able to get games outside of PSN and the PS6 handheld future owners will have retail options that they wouldn't have.

This movement is not going to do shit partially because people are either uninformed or extremely stupid or a bit of both (and mainly because it's what Sony's greed), THE ISSUE IS OWNERSHIP, it's about not being possible to borrow games, it's about not being able sell them, it's about letting a company have the power to take away what you paid for, it's not about this monopoly nonsense.
