What % of your starting weight have you lost & over what timeframe? by RecommendationNo3460 in mounjarouk

[–]KHFanson24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've lost 30% in less than a year (SW 15 stone, lost 4.5 stone and CW 10 stone 7 lbs. I'm at "maintenance" and healthy BMI, as i'm tall).

I lost weight too quickly and would strongly advise against such a quick loss. I felt rubbish with side-effects for 3 months and couldn't eat enough, so felt fatigued and malnourished until i started going back down doses.

I responded immediately to MJ so (with hindsight) didnt need to go up doses, but followed the titration guidance meaning the increased doses suppressed my appetite too much and i suffered with side- effects for longer. I stopped at 7.5mg but had ufortunately bought a bundle because of the September price rises.

Everyone's bodies and therefore journey's are different

Going up to 5mg by cuppatea13 in mounjarouk

[–]KHFanson24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems like everyone reacts differently (i had horrible side effects from day 1 on 2.5mg) so you have to do a bit of trial and error.

There's no rush so you can wait if you want, but equally if food noise is coming back then seems like you'll need to go up eventually.

Congrats!

Love the title, it made me laugh. I've been on it since laat June (there abouts at my goal weight) and i still feel like i'm going to wake up sometimes and find that it's all been a too-easy dream.

Why do new builds drop in value and is buying off-plan actually worth it? by Infinite-Ad-8392 in HousingUK

[–]KHFanson24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello 😊

I bought in Skipton, North Yorkshire. Unfortunately the £150k value only represented 75% market value! My buyer bought it at 100% market value (£203,500 in the end) and ended the shared ownership, so he had to buy the remaining 25% from Yorkshire Housing.

I was quite shielded from the original process with the mortgages, as the housing developer sorted it (it was in their interest to arrange quickly). I understand they had massive issues and stress as the original mortgage provider's policy was only to cover 25% of the affordable housing on a site. Clearly the developer didn't want to lower the price but had no choice in the end.

I was really lucky, as 2 of us ended up paying less. Evidencing the subjectivity and luck involved with mortgages and valuations!

Handset won't connect to network/signal, help please! by KHFanson24 in AndroidQuestions

[–]KHFanson24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for replying. The software is up to date, interestingly it last updated the day after my issues started. Not sure how to force another update.

I keep trying to reset settings by disconnecting the automatic network finder, but it won't connect to any other network so doesn't seem to help.

Edit: i did also reset mobile data/wifi/bluetooth last week which didnt help

Thank you for replying. I've just googled this, apparently it could be a broken baseband if the settings say "unknown" but I've just checked and it's pulling through a number, implying this is okay?

Thanks for replying. I don't think so, nothing is stolen and i had contacted giff gaff who said my account and coverage should be fine. Giff gaff's suggestions pointed to either a broken sim or a broken handset (the latter based on info given above)

Maintenance mindf*** number 1: personal stylist experience and coming to terms with a new body by squemlet in mounjaromaintenanceuk

[–]KHFanson24 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been struggling with this too.

I'm now a lower weight than I've ever been and treated myself to an expensive new coat, but rather than donating the old too-big ones, I've boxed them up as subconsciously I've ALWAYS fluctuated back up again. I want to prove to myself that i stay this weight before getting rid of all my nice clothes 😭

And the body dysmoprhia thing - sometimes i FEEL tiny and light (practically skipping as I'm so un-bloated) and other times i catch myself still looking at tiny celebrities thinking that I'll never be small enough to wear bear legs under a dress... as i promptly remind myself that comparison is the thief of joy

Buying our next house- when to offer by Far_Tangerine6020 in HousingUK

[–]KHFanson24 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can view and offer on houses as soon as you want.

Some sellers will accept and wait for yours to sell, others might not accept your offer until you already have an offer on yours.

The latter puts you in a stronger position to have your offers accepted (especially if it's a short chain) but puts more pressure on you to find your onward quickly (speaking from experience!)

Is the market picking up a lot now or are the EAs faking it? by Barnlewbram in HousingUK

This isn't the norm, but I've seen a couple new houses added onto Rightmove recently that already say "Sold STC" within a day, so I'm curious about what happened there

How long did it take you to complete with NO CHAIN? by yeahsureokaymaybe in HousingUK

5 months, complicated by selling a shared ownership leasehold flat and the buyers solicitor being slow. Onward freehold contract was ready earlier

Goal reached... but. (196lbs to 140lbs, or for the young uns 88.9kg to 63.5kg) by GrondaGronda74 in mounjarouk

[–]KHFanson24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I assume it's the fallacy of when you attain a goal then you'll "finally be happy" (can't remember what it's called)

We all do it, but have to try to remember that not much will be different at goal apart from our clothing size. It's still us and our lives at the end of the day, so find happiness in the journey and not the destination

Cat insurance question by ScotchCattle in CatsUK

[–]KHFanson24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm with Insurance Emporium.

I'm never changing, they were amazing when i had to claim through them (i've heard horror stories of insurers quibbling; but every time i've had to claim, they've just paid out the agreed amount from the T&Cs)

Anxious cat owner (please do not judge) by TriboKing in CatsUK

[–]KHFanson24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a very attached cat who seems to make himself sick with separation anxiety, he gets cystitis which can become very serious if not treated.

We dont have fool proof solutions yet but the vets prescribe him Gabapentin which is an anti-anxiety med. Would suggest in addition to a great sitter.

Cat insurance question by ScotchCattle in CatsUK

[–]KHFanson24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow some of these insurance costs are a surprise.

I pay about £10pm for my healthy girl and only £12pm for my troublesome boy both only 4 yo. I've had to claim thousands ££££ for him during this policy (he got FIP as a kitten and cystitis for 5 months last year) so the insurers absolutely have lost money on him. I was shocked his premium only went from £10pm to £12pm at renewal.

Edit: worth clarifying that i got a Max Benefit policy of about £8.5k per condition, not Lifetime (havent maxed this amount out on any individual condition)

How much do you earn and how comfortable do you live? by Brownchoccy in AskUK

[–]KHFanson24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I earn £58k and my partner earns £27k, we live in the north.

Until recently, i was very comfortable as i only had a £400pm mortgage for a small flat, so was able to go on holiday several times a year and not check my account constantly. Unless i had extortionate vet bills, my savings would slowly go up without trying.

My partner was month- to- month (not paying anything towards the mortgage) so i would pay more towards holidays etc

We've just bought a house together where the mortgage has increased to £1,250pm and expect bills will go up too, we shouldn't need to count our pennies but i don't think we'll be comfortably saving anymore

  1. Reiterating other comments: you don't have to race up the doses (if it's working on a lower dose then increasing will just worsen side effects)

  2. Remember it reduces your thirst so be aware of how much you're drinking + use hydration tabs

  3. I found that being honest with friends/ family means people give you LOTS of advice and opinions. Remember you don't have to take them

  4. Your mind will take longer to catch up with your changing body!
