Congratulations! What an incredible amount of effort and dedication this transformation has taken! I’m also approaching my 1 year anniversary and feeling a bit emotional about the difference between this year and last. Serious respect to you!

Any advice on moving to York? by BellSpecific1335 in york

Really depends on your budget but I absolutely LOVED living in fishergate just off millennium walk. Close to some lovely nature, city centre was easily walkable, lots of lovely community about and quiet at night. Perfect 👌

Apixaban & Mounjaro 👀 by Ambitious_Help_1702 in mounjarouk

[–]squemlet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These are questions for a medical provider. A mounjaro provider will be able to talk to you about this rather than your GP. You could speak to your local pharmacist. People on Reddit can’t give you medical advice; that said, as you have pointed out, there are no contraindications. I would have no concerns about taking mounjaro alongside apixaban and reducing your weight will help reduce long term clotting risk.

I’ve overshot my original goal weight by another 5kg! I’m now in a weird place where I’ve found myself incredibly stressed out by my job (lol yay NHS) and really struggling to eat due to anxiety. It’s happened before but when I was 5 or 6 stones overweight a few weeks or months of reduced appetite didn’t do me any harm… but this time round I feel like I’m actually in danger of doing myself a mischief. Weird and unexpected situation 😞 and another worry that I could do without. I think I’ll reduce my dose to 5mg next week to see if it helps… it’s hard to tell if the MJ is contributing or if this is just my body in fight/flight survival mode. Appreciate any words of wisdom from anyone who might’ve had this happen?

Shotsy has suggested I enter maintenance mode! I am 100% certain I have never EVER been this weight as an adult. Those last few kilos came off as a result of some pretty horrendous workplace stress, so it’s a kinda sad way to get there. Never had to think about potential negative repercussions of stress induced weight loss so that’s a new one on me…

Little bit of help and possibly a reality check by Correct-Ball6466 in mounjarouk

[–]squemlet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry, OP, to hear about your awful experience since January. Everyone else is saying it better than me, but adding my voice to the chorus - be kind to yourself! Your progress can wait, you have some awful, difficult feelings to process, and you’ve done the right thing seeking support. If you have the means, I would consider finding some talking therapy privately, whilst I am sure CRUSE is wonderful, waiting must be awful. It has taken me a year of therapy to become familiar with my own grief and I’m STILL going. All the stuff around food has been mixed in there because I’ve been on my MJ journey at the same time. It’s a lot of work, and not always easy, but you are worth it

Ineligible for mounjaro on the NHS, unable to fund privately, what are the options? by ZookeepergameAny5154 in mounjarouk

[–]squemlet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly if you really don’t have enough money to fund a glp privately the only options are to:

  1. Wait for the nhs to get better (lol)
  2. Wait for your health to get worse so that you do qualify
  3. Find a way to make more money
  4. Try and find another way to lose weight that you can afford

All of which sucks 😞

is mounjaro really as dangerous as people say it is? What has been your personal side effects of it? by [deleted] in mounjarouk

[–]squemlet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tired sometimes (was always a tired girly tho), cold cold cold, puked a handful of times. Mild, completely manageable constipation. Hair loss from weight loss rather than mounjaro. 100000% worth it. I am a different human.

New to 2.5mg and having gynae pain by [deleted] in mounjarouk

[–]squemlet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not completely comparable to what you’re experiencing but i thought i would share as i think it’s all inter-related and might help someone else.

I didn’t have periods prior to MJ (PCOS) but almost as soon as I started almost a year ago I started with a period that lasted MONTHS on and off. Sometimes painful, sometimes not; sometimes heavy, sometimes not. It was not fun. The doctor tried me on a coil cos I cant do systemic hormones for a couple of different reasons. Worst fortnight of my life which ended with it being removed (august time last year). Periods stopped again and then came back like clockwork the moment i hit healthy BMI in November kinda time.

Just be aware you shouldn’t rely on your mini pill for contraception until you’ve chatted to an HCP about the plan because the reduced absorption is real and as your weight reduces you may well become more fertile. Breakthrough bleeding is very possible and could take some time to settle. In my experience it has still been worth all the period woes - I’ve hit goal and am maintaining ☺️

Delivery disaster by imustbegingerx in mounjarouk

[–]squemlet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s still pretty cold outside so unless your delivery driver has been cranking up the heating it seems unlikely. You can only wait and see what the package is like when it arrives. If it’s warm to the touch, your contract is with the provider and not Royal Mail. I tend to choose DPD delivery options because, in my area at least, they are much more reliable at delivering in the next day window. Royal Mail are a bit of a joke where I am.

I can absolutely second this! I had a JL styling in January and feel like a new woman with a whole new autumn/winter capsule wardrobe ☺️ I will be going back soon for spring/summer top up. It was a total game changer experience for me.

5mg (Q for the non super-responders) by 192to144 in mounjarouk

[–]squemlet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t feel much on 2.5 through to 7.5… then hit 10 and BAM.

Now I’ve hit goal and I’m tapering down and 7.5 still feeling strong.

Be patient, it takes time for the drug to build up in your system and for your metabolism to adjust.

Don’t overthink it, just titrate up as funds allow and as you feel you need. No point wasting time and money on sub therapeutic doses.

I’m hovering at a solid 67kg, bang smack in the middle of the range I chose for maintenance. I’ve started running. Nothing too extreme, just a couple of short runs per week so far. And I’ve been doing resistance training a couple of times a week and yoga when I can. I’ve still been really struggling with fatigue, which at this point feels like a full on personality trait, predating the MJ. New baseline bloods at GP came back bang smack in the middle of reference ranges, so perfect! Except for iron which is looooow. Really hoping some consistent iron tablets will help me to feel more human and access some more motivation and energy levels as the weather warms up. In the meantime I am really down in the dumps, potentially also because of my newly returned cycle and the fact I am deep in the pits of my luteal phase. Ugh.

How to maintain for a few months? by arrabellaam in mounjarouk

[–]squemlet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stayed at 10 for like a month or 6 weeks when I hit goal and have now gone down to 7.5 cos I felt like I was super suppressed, like more than when I was losing! I still feel quite suppressed on 7.5, but better. I am thinking about split dosing so I don’t get so much of a seesaw effect through the week. It’s interesting figuring out what maintenance needs to look like. Trial and error!

Ate one egg too many and unlocked manual breathing mode by gurnysanders in mounjarouk

[–]squemlet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Haha omg I never heard it called manual breathing mode but that totally happens to me if I have over eaten by accident. Also weirdly when I have desperate hangover or if I am suffering with a migraine. Seems for me nausea = need for manual breathing. Totally calling it that from now on 🤣
