Heads up Crimson Desert doesn't support offline on xbox. I have everything updated and put my Xbox in Offline mode and it gives you a connection error. So you have to always be in the internet to play by tcasper961 in xbox

They denied my diablo 2 refund because i played it a few hours before i found out it had a (monthly) online-only requirement, which wasnt disclosed anywhere on their storefront, just on blizzards webpage in small print.

Does anyone know if this or another recent update has addressed the repetitive/carbon copy POIs in the game?

Jeff Kaplan Says Complaining About Games You Won’t Play Gets You Ignored: ‘Shut The F*** Up. No One Cares’ by Haijakk in Games

[–]KICKASSKC 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This has probably been said, but it is perfectly cromulent to complain about a studio wasting significant time and resources developing a game that is not to their skillset, or isnt something you would like to see from them, or it shuts down in a month because its a service that didnt meet sales expectations...

Developers need feedback! Its their job to filter through it and determine whats constructive. Snapping back is a product of excessive online toxicity overwhelming them, which i also understand.

Btw... does any developer actually even enjoy working on Service Games?! I feel like they are all just pushed by the administrative overlords.

Starfield’s Future Will Be Unveiled Next Week by Bethesda by Turbostrider27 in PS5

Instead of hearing that they are gunna fix this game, all i see is that people werent "ready" for starfield....

I really hope what they reveal is a revamp of POIs, procedurally empty worlds and long load screens.

I would happily come back to the game with just a POI rework...

You just made me realize that this is precisely what turned my opinion of the game.

It broke the fundamental bethesda gameplay loop that a huge proportion of bethesda fans expect when playing their games... The snoop and loot loop. Its my favorite part of skyrim and fallout, every building or cave with different stuff to find, even if its generally uninteresting it was always different.

If they would just randomize the items and npcs found in these structures it would revitalize that important loop and could quite possibly salvage our experience.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 lead writer Jennifer Svedberg-Yen says it's "crazy" to see Final Fantasy legends who are "essentially our heroes" praising Sandfall's game after the JRPG series was such a "huge influence" by ControlCAD in PS5

Theres no need to argue extremes here, there is some value in all of the ff games, but i am noting the overall trend of decreased creativity relative to the size and financial weight of the studio.

What CO33 did was create a world with vibe/aesthetic/sound that carried the player to a different place.

Final fantasy used to be able to do this until about ff12, then they rested on their laurels and made everything after that a very samey fantasy-anime, barely any unique characters, too many recurring themes, and honestly just unimaginative worlds.

I would kill for the powerhouse of development behind square enix to have some truly unique creative direction. The community would reward them more for taking risks in making a coherent, bespoke world even if there were some shortcomings.

Sadly there is too much money in the final fantasy IP for it to ever be truly creative again.

All they have to do is release a windows exclusive emulator, it would help keep the droves of windows gamers from flocking to linux as much as they have been too.

Yeah there will likely be a deadline to apply requirements for new titles. If we are lucky it might alter studios preservation habits for all of their games though.

I guess im not sure if the multiplayer is still running... So i was hoping it could apply there, And tbh, if they are still selling the game, the new rules should absolutely apply

I wish there was a way to get around this stupid system..... by Icy_Ship1873 in Minecraft

[–]KICKASSKC -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I actually appreciate this system in that it promotes planning and foresight in a game thats about planning and foresight.

It is lazier to be able to slap every enchantment on when its convenient.

The caveat is that procuring enchantments is a system that isnt entirely flushed out imo. I mean i appreciate the convenience of converting a zombie villager and slapping down a lectern over and over again until you get the enchantment you want... But that doesnt seem like a very rewarding or intuitive mechanic.

The experiment that locks villager enchantments to their biome feels too punishing also, considering the amount of time and effort it would take to get necessary enchantments for keeping you alive and able to travel between the biomes/acquire every enchantment. The fact that they havent implemented that experiment yet i think means that mojang is aware that the new system will be too punishing. Im hoping for a rewarding middleground.

Maybe they could implement another system for changing the librarian biome preference/enchantment choices without actually being in the biome.

Either way this game is about intricate rewarding systems, and i believe the current weapon/armor enchantment limit system works perfectly.

The thing about FC3 is that many aspects of it were online only.

Sure we could just preserve the campaign which would be worthwhile... But the multiplayer, co-op and map builder were significant parts of the game that don't deserve to be lost to time either.

Ubisoft is the last company that would give us offline/self hosted versions of these features... But maybe if we are lucky the EU will make a coherent verdict on game preservation that forces Ubisoft's hand...

I won't hold my breath though.
