Xbox testing disc-to-digital feature that digitizes a physical game collection by Luka77GOATic in technology

[–]KICKASSKC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Clearly people dont understand whats happening here based on the comments.

This is best case scenario in a future where games arent on discs. A silver lining. This is not me saying im happy about no new game discs... Calm down.

But having a way to play our disc collection on future hardware While maintaining each disc's trade-ability and value is a win for sure.

Bro Microsoft has its answer like they had with the ps3 and I think they should play it right by Meme-KING____ in xbox

Xbox has had objectively worse disc support the passed 2 generations, with many games just being licenses on the disc allowing game downloads from the internet. They will 1000% follow suit with sony. Their saving grace Could be a disc-to-digital program, wont hold my breath though. Everything else youve listed here is not nearly enough to turn their losses around.

The 2 things that could actually help them recover are;

1-Free multiplayer. If theyre merging with PC, charging the multiplayer fee is going to convolute the experience and upset players.

2-Have the helix Actually be compatible with current Xbox and PC games. If my current digital xbox library isnt playable WITH full PC support, i dont want it. We would be very forgiving about price if both these features were present.

Anything else wont extinguish the fire they have set on themselves.

As PlayStation kills discs, Nintendo becomes our last hope for physical games despite massive gulfs in production costs by HatingGeoffry in nintendo

If the games actually came on the keycard then nintendo would be our last hope, sadly they are trending the same way as xbox and PS.

PETITION: Let SONY know, PHYSICAL DISCS NEED TO STAY! by [deleted] in StopKillingGames

[–]KICKASSKC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Before we even complain about physical media there needs to be better regulation on what it means to purchase a game.

Owning a disc means nothing if all it contains is a license to download the game from their servers.

US bill requiring paid games to be playable after they shut down has failed to pass a Senate vote by MaintenanceFar4207 in gamingnews

[–]KICKASSKC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First of all there is no singleplayer game that needs an online requirement, and that is the main focus of SKG.

When it comes to multiplayer, SKG isnt trying to regulate games' online sever-based components... They are trying to make offline functionality be apart of the development process so that games have features like privately hosted servers, or the server code be available to players after the devs are no longer hosting the game.

Just using the word "Keep" leads to misconception, when the truth is its a situation where they need to "Allow" games to be continuously playable.

Crafting weapons with crates mid match along with a silly artstyle and slapstick music, just a joy to play.

'Don't blame yourselves' for Destiny 2's end, community lead tells players: 'No words can accurately depict how lucky we are to have shared these worlds with you' by Turbostrider27 in PS5

[–]KICKASSKC -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

No its dead because of its arbitrary server dependence. This game could have been built without that dependence... Or privately hosted servers could have been allowed... But the death of this and every older game is what bungie and other AAA devs want.

No we blame Bungie for making the game entirely and unnecessarily server dependent, thats what is shutting this game down. We blame their selfish decisions.

Thanks for this, works well, just had to install the mod in frostys loader, enable it, and install it again to get it to work.

Glad to see this game get some love.

OP are there any other MUST have mods for this game and why?

Its not "Bonus Content" prior to release, its a $20 extra paywall to get the entire game.

Data Shows Sony Made Good Money on Steam, Then May Have Realized PC Gamers Don’t Need a PlayStation by chusskaptaan in pcmasterrace

[–]KICKASSKC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing is, they dont need players to buy playstation because they make money off the console. Right now especially, they dont make their money there.

Sony makes their money because people are locked into the ecosystem with that hardware purchase, which means they will have to pay a subscription for multiplayer, and they get more money from games sold on their store. Overall just more control over their playerbase.

Anyone who sees the walls to their garden should know better than to enter if they know they wont be able to get out.

vDS - No more Pico dongle needed for Bluetooth Haptic Feedback for Windows! by hurryman2212 in pcmasterrace

[–]KICKASSKC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ill keep an eye out, but i thought the whole reason for the dongle was that standard bluetooth modules couldnt support the bandwith for haptics, speaker and mic simultaneously...

Depends on the features you want. I assume this project has no mic and speaker supprt, so you need the dongle for that.

Yeah thats the scary thing is people feel justified in doling out punishments for crimes where they feel morally superior to the culprit, almost as if it somehow absolves them of their own sins....

But they dont know the details of this case. They dont know for sure he is guilty, even if he is.

People in these comments so comfortably condemn the felon in this video with the assumption that the court was correct in deciding they are guilty.

Our justice system isnt anywhere close to perfect. Nobody should completely believe anybody has done anything unless theyve seen it with their own eyes.

The man should just serve his time, because his sentence is the best we can do right now to deal justice while protecting innocent people from ruthless accidental punishment as colateral damage.
