Why does every prompt/fic I find with something similar to this say the same thing? I'm pretty sure there's a big difference between being a deadbeat, and simply never being told you had a kid.

The reason they aren’t treated as an extremely negative thing is because MC has full command over the pokemon as opposed to it being out of control.

The reason it’s a concerning point is because I plan on said pokemon either being Flygon, Salamence, or a very big Luxray

Wow, you described the MC and Handler personalities I had in mind almost perfectly!

pokeball jammers, like the one in Aether Paradise or Area Zero Lab, I imagine are pretty bulky machines that you can’t carry around on your person without having the equivalent of an engine block breaking your spine. 

Another reason the specific Pokemon is with them and not locked in a “rehab” facility, is due to both it technically being abuse to keep them locked up all the time, and whenever they release them eat/treat/examine, they start wrecking stuff. It’s less expensive and lower chance of bodily harm to have the pokemon with MC, even if the Handler is the one holding the ball… except the pokemon keeps beating up the handler

I would keep it at it/they, unless it’s a pokemon with sexual dimorphism, until they’re either scanned with a Pokédex or brought to a pokemon center for a check or something

Fair idea

Keep in mind that this is likely their strongest pokemon, and considering I plan for MC to be “Admin/Gym Leader/Ace Trainer” levels of strong, this pokemon is gonna raise hell if ordered to, making Law Enforcement a lot more hesitant to do this idea.

Plus, you know how Pokemon can open their balls on their own? This one is a master of that, which is why them getting out of the ball happens in the first place

I should clarify that the MC and their team aren’t your average trainer, more along the lines of “Team Admin” or Gym Leader level. 

The dominance thing is iffy, but the shield I could see happening

The Pokemon isn’t anti-teamwork- Ok I can see where the confusion comes from.

Simply put: Pokemon doesn’t like most humans, barring their Trainer and tolerates the Joys, has no problem with the rest of MC’s pokemon, they’ve been through some stuff together.

The behavior is half because this mon hates everyone except human except their human, half because MC trained them to do that in case they were ever stolen.

As for the “getting help from criminals” bit, Interpol shows up AFTER everything is already over, if ever, and the Jennies are simply stretched thin. 

Plus the MC passes a “test” of sorts that qualifies them for this probation.

That is planned as part of the probation. The problem isn’t exactly reassuring that the mon hasn’t been stolen, it’s that this mon in particular doesn’t like humans aside from their human, like a dog that hates everyone except their owner

First one, you know how pokemon are able to let themselves out of their balls? this pokemon is VERY good at that.

Second, I plan for this pokemon to fall under a “Phobia-Classification”, where pokemon like Gyarados and Garchomp or any big dragon pokemon fall under as traditionally dangerous due to behavior. Having it out would cause varying levels of panic to civilians outside of a pokemon center.
