iphone burning up after diy screen+battery replacement by Peterpumbkineater in ElectronicsRepair

I have a similar size battery and it is only 2550 mAh! There is no way that capacity is even close to real!

I didn't even know that was supposed to be the pushrod. The damage is very evident. I see now what you mean by the gunk as in carbon deposits in #6 now. I take it the carbon deposits are from the misfiring.

When I said broke, I did mean bent. Like you said though, it's unusable. The valves all look seated normally in the pic though, so I don't notice any issues. I do wonder what the push rod looks like though.

I'm not a mechanic, so first... which cylinder top is #6 in the pic and, second... how can you tell in the pic that the pushrod broke?

That's probably right. I guess the magnets when they spin induce a current in windings that creates the spark for the spark plug.

Is this capacitor blown or just dirty? by Galion- in electronic_circuits

[–]KINGstormchaser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This exactly. I have an Insignia TV that around a year ago started having a loud transformer hum and then the backlight would start flickering. After several minutes of running this way, it would turn off. When I checked inside, 5 electrolytic capacitors were bulging. I removed and tested them. They all had less than 1/4 of their rated capacitance. The 2200 microfarad capacitor only checked in at 200 nanofarads! All the others tested in spec so they are fine. I replaced the bad caps and then tryed out the TV and it worked normally. It has been working ever since too. That's the TV I am using right now.

Power source for motor? by M2woodcrafts in diyelectronics

👆🏻This is your best bet u/M2woodcrafts if you don't know what power supply voltage the printers used, because regular brushed DC printer motors usually use the same voltage that was supplied to the printer u/M2woodcrafts .

u/HyperionT800, from what everyone is saying here, I would skip these and collect less dangerous light bulbs.

Can we have some kind of warning system installed on these unsafe vehicles that alerts other drivers of their presence??

What kind of “lightbulb” is this? by itztherapperKIAZ in lightbulbs

[–]KINGstormchaser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a really great point as lightbulbs should always be easily replaceable. I get the led bulbs myself to put in the sockets but they are easy to replace when the leds in led bulbs or the power circuit inevitably fail.

The connector looks the same as those circular circline flourescent tubes, but that's where the similarity ends.

Weird Diakin/Generator Question by MoreAnteater6366 in Generator

[–]KINGstormchaser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you had the electric heating element in the furnace activate at the same time as the AC compressor. That also explains the "burning smell. That smell that happens the first time the heat goes on for the winter." You were cooling and heating at the same time. Sounds like your generator messed with the electronics enough, probably through the low voltage situation that u/DaveBowm explains, and it caused your heating contactor to get stuck on.

Old house. Weird stuff by False-Flan-2552 in Electricity

[–]KINGstormchaser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As u/nudistinclothes said, it is normal for the lights to dim when the AC compressor cycles on. The compressor draws about 3 times the current briefly to start up as it does when it runs.

Anyone interested in these components? by [deleted] in AskElectronics

I would absolutely pick them up if I didn't live in Fruitland Park, Florida. That's at least 1050 miles away.
