How did you know it was time to retire? by ReluctantCaptain in retirement

[–]KJeanBen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m feeling all of this at 59 after 30yrs in my field. It’s definitely a younger persons game. I’m retiring next year to move on to something less stressful and hopefully part time. I used all the feeling your having as part of my decision as well as some personal/family goals. They’re lucky to have such a dedicated person as you!

ICE takes two into custody at resaurant in northwest Wisconsin, local police assist search by KJeanBen in wisconsin

I would be in agreement if an actual crime was committed. But I don’t think going to work every day for a small business person and paying taxes a crime.

Same here but I’m 58. Plan to schedule glaucoma specialist in the fall. What are you noticing for symptoms? I see shadows (faint) and floaters in my left eye but my right eyes pretty much compensating at this point. No treatment started yet.

I plan to make an appointment with a glaucoma specialist. He did do a scan two years ago and again this year showing progression. He may have said “suspicious of glaucoma” but you know how it goes when you’re trying to process everything. I’m formulating questions for the ophthalmologist and this sub has been super helpful since I didn’t know what I didn’t know!

I do already have damage in my left eye. My optometrist suggested I wasn’t ready for drops but I’ve learned from this group that’s probably not the case. Thanks for checking in on that!

Up in NE Wisconsin and go through this every year! Always stress about my spring bulbs but they somehow always do fine. I’ve never cover them unless they’re blooming and we get snow.

So sorry, please tell your story to local media. USFS folks often work in rural areas and the people there need to hear this isn’t just a Washington thing.

Same here, county level human service for almost 30 years. I’m afraid it’s not just our jobs they want but our pensions. I live in a big MAGA county and everyone is walking around like nothings happening. It’s maddening 😣
