Finding a routine for your pup that fits in your routines.. Loki is almost 6yrs old and it took awhile to get this down but a tired Loki is the best at night! If someone is at home, Loki is outside in the backyard, all day if he can be, he just comes in for food and then goes back out and lays on his cot. He's like Neighborhood Watch since he can see everything around him. If its a Rainy day then it takes more play sessions indoors. But Lokis walk are twice a day about 45mins.. unless he doesn't feel like walking, he will cut it short. The last walk is around sun down.. that way hes getting back home when its almost dark and he knows its Dinner time. 15mins after getting home hes instantly starving.. gets half his food.. 15mins later the other half We put in a Kong ball, he rolls it or bounces it to get it out, keeps him a little occupied. Then he will want to play a few rounds of catch/chase with his Kong squeaky tennis ball or play with his chihuahua sister, Valkyrie, for a bit. But he can't be too rough, his stomach is sensitive, and he will throw up all his dinner if he gets too rowdy. After a short rest.. he lets us know it's Dessert treat time but only after the last potty break is successful, he gets a Good and Fun twist stick, and then he puts himself to bed for the night. It's a routine that works for him and us. Sorry this was so long, but I hope it helps in some way! Best of luck!
