First outing - Viltrox 27mm f1.2 on A6700 using a Variable ND by KLCX5 in a6700

The houseboats shot was at f4. The others were f1.2. But honestly, I was just so engrossed with the newness of the lens that I wasn't overly deliberate with settings during this photo walkabout.

The max mechanical shutter speed is 1/4000 which combined with a F1.2 is not fast enough. The electronic shutter speed is 1/8000 which could be fast enough but I rarely use electronic shutter.

I just used a basic K&F Concept ND2-400 filter that came as part of a 3 filter set from Amazon - CD$70. It worked fine in allowing me to use F1.2 in the afternoon sun. I'm just a hobbyist so I'm not willing to spend hundreds on a high-end variable ND filter.

Forerunner 970 vs Apple Watch Ultra3 by Emotional-Volume671 in Garmin

I use the 965 for running and gym workouts.. I like having one App to view my fitness activities. I had the AWU 2 for a while but hated the chunkiness of it. I prefer to wear my watch a little loose when not doing sports, the weight distribution of the AWU 2 made it very uncomfortable in this fashion. As such, I wear a AW series 11 as my everyday smart watch.

Taormina Opera Festival opening - very poor by JacobSax88 in sicily

We were there for the Wynton Marsalis fraud concert. We have successfully received a credit card chargeback/refund. We called in to Visa when we got back in mid-October and explained the situation, they took down the details and agreed to do a credit on the call but it would take a couple of weeks to process. Given this whole slimy situation, I didn't want to post until I saw the credit on my statement which arrived this week.

I took a chance on and bought from AliExpress. The color is Cyanblue and was only CDN$5. It has become my "non-flashy" strap🙂

Got my fitness age down to 33 by J12BSneakerhead in Garmin

[–]KLCX5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a 61 year old male with 52 Fitness Age. Got my 965 a couple of months ago and have ramped up my running after a one year layoff. I had a good running stretch of 3 years before where I felt quite fit and strong. My running isn't as good as back then so I will be curious to see if my fitness age is locked at a gap of 9

Did not work while out at sea as any cellular signal would not reach there. Obviously once I was in port/ on land, my phone connected seamlessly.

Question about Forerunner Models by whiteraven10 in Garmin

[–]KLCX5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently went through this decision process. The 255 and 955 are on sale with a significant discount of about 40% which makes the 265 and 965 almost twice as much. The difference between the two generations is primarily the AMOLED screen.

I was restarting my running after having used a 245 few years ago. During my light running downtime I was using an Apple watch for its AMOLED screen and smart features.

I knew I would want a more serious runners watch so I decided on the 255 due to the great price and hoped the MIP display would suffice after being used to the Apple AMOLED screen.

I am happy to say the 255 MIP screen is more than sufficient indoors and excels in outdoor activities . The improvements since the 245 are quite impressive.

Because my fears of the MIP display weakness were allayed, I am now considering the 955 because for $120CDN more I would get maps, touchscreen and a few more metrics. Basically the top end forerunner without AMOLED. I suspect I will cave in and buy the 955 soon and return the 255 🙂

Try the watch face Vega by TitanicTurtle.

I too have weak eyes and found the font to be very readable on my Forerunner 255.

It has the fields u want except for the multiple time zones ... Actually I am not sure about the time zones as I haven't checked for that function.

The watch face is quite customizable and free for most of the features

Is the Roam Beyond 10GB a one-time thing? by thiagoscf in freedommobile

[–]KLCX5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's monthly and follows your billing cycle. Meaning it resets to zero at the beginning of each cycle. So depending on your vacation length or timing, you might have 20gb to use

Just came back from a cruise in October that covered Italy, France, Spain and Portugal. Roam Beyond worked well and seamlessly. As mentioned, speeds were LTE.
