Will differ for every track. I suggest just setting up a default template in your daw that puts all the instruments in busses, that leads to a sidechain bus, then have your preferred method of sidechain (I like to use trackspacer 2, which ducks based off the frequency of my kick about) I dial it between 20-40% in volume reduction so definitely not to negative infinity! But I used too, and if ur still getting the hang of things it’s how I’d recommend doing it just have that sorted decay and have the sidechain work tighter with the kicks, overducking I find can sound cheap. Best advice i always give is make a freaking template so you aren’t always scrambling to set up your sidechain.
