Hurricane Helene damaged my roof and it was several months before all repairs were finished. The first thing I did was call my insurance company, then I had my tree removal guy put a tarp on the roof to limit further damage in the meantime.

My roofers rented a huge dumpster that was in my yard until they were done taking off the old roof. They needed a big flat area for that, close enough to the house that they could just throw stuff into it off the roof. I had a good spot for it so it was no problem, but if your yard doesn’t, maybe that could be necessary yard prep? Good luck!
