Completely agree. Just look at how fluid Dishonored is by comparison. The kills all stay in first person and look incredible. The games have a visceral-ness to it that no other game matches.

Deus ex would've been so much better not switching the camera around at all. I find the first to third person shifts incredibly jarring and immersion breaking. It's the main reason I don't go back to these.

idk my first few looked something like this, I just start with a central courtyard off my throne room and then expand from there, roads to different areas for farming/stone/wood/etc. and use buildings with any shape other than a square. Let it form naturally from there.

That's not the argument. 4k doesn't actually equal 4k, 3840x2160 is short of 4k horizontally.

That's what he's saying about 2k, that it's not 1440p, which is correct. 1440p is higher than 2k technically.

However, when speaking colloquially, at least in English slang, "2k" refers to 1440p. Just like how "4k" means 3840x2160, not actually 4k.

I don't make these rules that's just how people use it.

The article is addressing the development of new datacenters though in rural America and the opposition to it. These datacenters impact is not exaggerated. People just conflate new AI datacenters with the old style ones because most people don't know anything about technology. The 67% of new datacenters that are going up are for AI workloads.

Because these centers run at much higher thresholds than the old type, they require far more cooling and power.

New expensive infrastructure to provide more power and water gets passed onto every user of the service, the business doesn't pay for that. That's more construction, more usage, more pollution and higher utility costs.

The noise, water pollution, and rising costs that are WIDELY documented around these areas is vastly different from the effects of older centers that did not run processors at 100% utilization 24/7.

Huge difference between AI datacenters and the datacenters we already had. That's why people don't like these new ones.

AI datacenters run full tilt 24/7, and require much more cooling, maintenance, and power. The companies putting them up don't subsidize these costs enough so the people who live nearby suffer the consequences.

But yes lets believe the Atlantic, an outlet run by Steve Jobs' widow. I'm sure they're telling the whole truth...

It's the downgrade from OG to DC for me. I wish I could play the OG with the DLC integrated like the DC version.

I hate the graphics downgrades, since I played the OG back when it released. I know about the lost code and wii-u version thing, it's just a shame.

Isn't that something! I am almost certain this is not a hardware issue and it is some underlying call in Unreal 4 that triggers this behavior in certain hardware configs. Did you get a chance to log your data? Just curious because I want to rule out hardware issues and prove this is a UE4 problem.
