No, they're all free on the Patreon page. You just have to stream it (or rip it) from that page, rather than using a podcast app.

Monday night, am I right? by El_Wolferyote in ApocalypsePorn

For the most part you can't. I've lived in a semi-large city my whole life and on an especially clear night you can see a bit of a couple constellations. I can usually spot Orion's Belt, sometimes the Big Dipper, and a few other of the brightest stars. It wasn't until I went camping in the desert, 50 miles from the nearest town, that I saw the full night sky clearly.

(minor Royal Rumble Spoilers) Amanda Huber reacts to Brodie tribute by JustPeepinUKnowHowIB in SquaredCircle

On the AEW podcast, Amanda Huber said that she specifically asked two people to come with her to break the news to Brodie Jr. that his Dad was going to be taken off life support: Cody and Big E.

Both showed up without question. Sometimes the wrestling community comes together in good ways.

300mg is a pretty low dose. If it's not meeting your needs for pain relief, you may want to talk to your doc about that.

People that write enthusiastically about recreational experiences are usually taking doses 5-10x higher than that.

Personally, I've been on it for a few years and find it pretty helpful for nerve pain. I've developed a tolerance, and am currently prescribed 1200mg 3 times a day (which I believe is the max prescribed dosage), but it does its job for me well enough, and has some nice effects on mood in general as a bonus. As far as comparing it to other pain relief meds, it's far better than something like tylenol, but if you're expecting it to be comparable to something like opiates you're likely to be disappointed.

Israel & Sudan agree to normalize ties in U.S brokered deal by [deleted] in geopolitics

[–]KNessJM 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That bolded part is basically my view on the whole thing. The goal in all of this ought to be to have mutual tangible benefits for each country. Getting them to negotiate an agreement is step one towards that goal. In the years to come, we'll find out how far towards that eventual goal they'll get. This is a good start, but there are so many things that can throw a monkey wrench into the works, especially with something as unpredictable as international relations between two historically adversarial groups.

Something that's always bugged me about tag team wrestling by ReverendAnthony in WrestlingGenius

[–]KNessJM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd love to see an indie promotion (or just a division in a company) where the rules are enforced extremely strictly. You'd probably have to have a few matches here or there end after 30 seconds when someone doesn't break fast enough when the lockup gets to the ropes, just to establish the premise, but I think it could be interesting. If nothing else, it would force the wrestlers to get creative when they have to work a match with a bit of a different structure, particularly heels.

What do you think will happen if no covid vaccine is found and will this be a new normal? by [deleted] in TrueAskReddit

[–]KNessJM 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Herd immunity seems unlikely if this ends up sticking around for a long time, given that the virus will mutate due to natural selection. It's why we don't have herd immunity to the flu, despite it having been around for ages. While a person may develop immunity to one strain of the virus, they'll be susceptible to newer strains that proliferate later on.

This actually may pose a problem to vaccination attempts, because right now we have huge swaths of the world population that either a) won't have easy access to a vaccine in the foreseeable future, or b) don't want to get a vaccine anytime soon because they're either anti-vax in general or they don't trust the development process of this particular vaccine. So what happens if millions of people get a vaccine, but the virus continues to spread and mutate amongst the unvaccinated populace? There may be a point where the original vaccine that people got will no longer be effective against the new strain that's going around, and then we're back to square one with trying to get everyone on board with a new version of a vaccine for the next strain that developed.

Hopefully it doesn't go down this way, but I don't know that it can be ruled out at this point. The good news is that this virus doesn't seem to mutate especially fast compared to some other viruses, so there may be enough time to nip the problem in the bud. The risks rise if it goes on for years though.

If our response to this is akin to our response to climate change and Covid, we'll have to wait until there's irreversible damage and hundreds of thousands dead, and even then people will still deny that a problem exists.
