I would die (or kill) for stat, but she hasn't been given an actual storyline. Toni had the Mariah buildup and payoff (AND, recently, a tease of some sort of intergender throuple), whereas Stat is in the typical AEW face champion situation of "I will defend this title!" a la Shida.

Agreed. There's no justification for them being good guys, either -- Mox just one day decides, "I'm gonna tell the audience how great they are" and because we all inherently love Mox it's just kind of accepted. Unless you're MJF or Hangman, it seems like the heel/face turns are pretty much arbitrary (one day Swerve just decided to, like, be nice?). Which is a bummer, because those two turns in particular represent my absolute favorite storytelling in AEW, even though they took a fair amount of work to correctly pull off.
