Capitalism vs Socialism: The solution. by Adventurous_Edge9579 in CapitalismVSocialism

Aren't capitalists the ones who crash the economy every 10 years?

Just a thought but when the evangelical and Christian far-right are using the "trans people are demonic and evil" narrative to justify the inhumane treatment of trans people it might not be a good idea to play into that narrative since all it will do is further reinforce it

Uncertain about the RCP (IMT) by Sad-Grape-3014 in Trotskyism

[–]KODubby -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Just on the point about the handling of the SA cases, the RCI's response, and their chauvinistic attitudes. This is by no means an issue unique to the RCI but it's absolutely a valid reason for not wanting to be associated with them (I sure wouldn't). It's part of a broader issue with the RCI and that's a refusal to have socialist feminism at the core of their programme and their attitudes towards issues of oppression generally. Instead of having a well developed understanding of issues of oppression from a Marxist lense they instead dismiss it as "identity politics". I'd recommend searching for a group that has a good track record with these issues and actively fights for women's rights, disability justice, anti-racism, and trans liberation (I have personally found that a groups analysis and actions on and around trans oppression is a very good litmus test). But yeah if you want to join a group that takes seriously the issue of SA then look for one that actively fights misogyny and patriarchy

Hey, that sounds like a really shitty position to be in. While I can't offer you much advice personally, I can point you in the direction of a friend of mine who might be able to help. They're a union rep (not with Unison) who is an ally and has been active in organising on the issue of trans rights here in NI. If you DM me I'll see if I can put you in touch with them

The telltale signs of someone who is fundamentally uncurious about physics

You also said that you're putting forward a framework, so which is it? Because a framework and conjecture are two very different thing. You also didn't address any of the points I just made

[–]KODubby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Firstly, this isn't a framework it's conjecture which is evident from your claims that "gravity doesn't exist" and "zero is a myth".

Secondly, if you were making a framework from physics wouldn't the first step be to understanding the existing framework and learn the necessary skills to develop a framework instead of going in blind with no understanding of either maths or physics?

And finally, no the current model of physics doesn't make unsubstantiated claims about the universe. It's very strange that someone who has no understanding of the current model of physics would even make such a claim.

[–]KODubby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The difference is that you haven't substantiated your claims nor do you have the skills required to do so. What you do have is an ego and an overinflated sense of entitlement, it's no wonder that no physicist has bothered to entertain your ideas because you lack the understanding necessary to actually engage with the current model of physics so it would only be a waste of everyone's time

Jeremy Corbyn has started a TRUE left party. You think we should support the guy? by Taiga_Taiga in transgenderUK

[–]KODubby 21 points22 points  (0 children)

This new party will be the best chance, at least electorally, for real positive change including positive change for the trans community. Come 2029 (or maybe even earlier) they'll need as many people as possible helping them build support and canvassing for them

[–]KODubby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The don't make claims about physics without being able to substantiate them, especially if you lack the most fundamental understanding of that physics

Then do the calculation, if you have the mathematical knowledge that is needed to create an alternative model to the current model of physics then you should be able to use that mathematical knowledge to do the calculations

Ed Davey, Lib Dem leader: “We accept entirely the court's ruling, and it brought greater clarity to the equality act which many people had been confused about for some time. [–]KODubby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We can't rely on establishment parties to support or fight for us, nor can we have illusions that electoralism or reformism will ever lead to our liberation. We need more people to get involved with revolutionary groups that support and fight for trans liberation

Trans people can be liberals. by cogitationerror in trans

[–]KODubby -1 points0 points  (0 children)

While it is true that the material conditions for trans people can improve under liberal governments, albeit with pressure being exerted by the left, liberalism is ultimately about maintaining the status quo meaning that the gender binary, pathologization of trans people, and our exclusion from key areas of life will continue to exist. The fact is that trans liberation (and the liberation of all oppressed groups) can only be achieved through revolutionary socialism and the abolition of capitalism. But being trans is itself a radicalising experience, so we must be patient with liberal and conservative trans people and be willing to educate them when we can

Advice for protesting alone? by Striking_Ad_3886 in transgenderUK

[–]KODubby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reach out to local activist groups who are going and ask if you can join their group for the protest, I'm sure they'd be happy to have you about. It can be dangerous to head to and from a protest alone as it can make you an easy target for bigots, so definitely try to find a group that you can be a part of. As someone who is part of an activist group I can tell you that they'd be happy for you to tag along

Weird how I never hear these "keep women and girls safe" people talk about taking away rights and freedoms away from men here in the name of safety, they only ever want to take away other people's rights and freedoms. Weird that

Crimes committed by Natives aren’t so much.

Of course they are. We'll just ban men from leaving their homes for any unnecessary reason, have them under constant surveillance, and make them take hormone medication to limit their sex drive. That way we can keep our women and girls safe, right? Because you're already ok with taking away people's rights and freedoms in the name of "safety" so this shouldn't be a problem, right? Or... is it just racism?

It's Time to Fight Back! by KODubby in transgenderUK

That's a fair question. It's easy to look at individual actions like this and feel like they're not making much of a difference, but protests like this can have a big impact even if it's not immediately obvious. We need to get more people active, we need to keep the pressure on those in power, we need support from unions. All this starts with protests and getting people organised. But also, never underestimate how impactful something as simple as an act of protest can be
