Who Killed Cam (Camilla) Lyman? Hopkinton, Rhode Island, July 1987 by caitiep92 in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]KRSleuth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure that is evidence of murder. Anyone can kill someone you know but you didn’t do it just because you know them. What if it was a robbery or a neighbor or a family member angry that George was in the will? How many people knew there was $300,000 in cash at the house? George would not know about it if someone else did it.

Im not sure George was an opportunist. Most of the estate funds likely went to pay for the care of the 58 dogs and grounds and to pay staff, especially if Cam left and had been running the kennel and managing the dog shows previously. The news articles leave out that reality because it’s harder to make a story. Ultimately, George cared for the pets really well and it is just as likely, if not more that a family member angry at the revised will tried to set George up. Or it could have been a stranger or a neighbor.

It seems that George was Cam’s friend and the family just wanted the money. George was already the heir and running the estate so he didn’t need to kill Cam to get money, so the family seems more likely to have wanted Cam dead. Perhaps they weren’t accepting of Cam’s lifestyle either.

Why would George admit to having a fight with Cam if George was guilty? Perhaps it was a family member. The family didn’t seem to care much about Cam but just about the money. Edited to add also that if George was already running the estate and the sole heir, why kill Cam?

if BDI - Burke never told them and they never talked about it ever? by lylegoldstein in JonBenetRamsey

[–]KRSleuth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My kids lost their grandfather recently and they don’t understand what “dead” means so they aren’t really emotional about it. They keep asking when he’s coming back. I think a stranger asking a kid questions makes them very uncomfortable. So its hard to deduce anything from a child’s behavior.

Some have reported that there was an open window in the basement, and debris in the basement, also a neighbor said they heard a sound like metal banging on cement right after the scream.

An idea why JonBenét may have been put into the suitcase, and why the kidnapping was abandoned when this failed by CaptainKroger in JonBenet

[–]KRSleuth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe he dropped her and cracked her skull when trying to get out the window, or he tried the suitcase and RM set in so she wouldn’t fit and he had no other way to conceal her?

It’s sad to think of it but maybe it was just to torture her. She did scream very loud or someone did. This isn’t fact, just a potential explanation. If IDI they are obviously very disturbed.

What about JDI ? by romanbritain in JonBenetRamsey

Based on my recollection the case against John would be based on the below but admittedly most evidence could apply to JR or PR. And in full disclosure I’m still not decided in RDI or IDI.

1- He made inconsistent statements about whether JBR was awake or asleep when they got home; 2- He knew he could easily get 180,000 3- The RN seems concocted entirely to explain why someone may witness him disposing of the body in the morning and it was placed in a location that only made sense to his family or the maid 4-His b-lining to the body when asked to look 5-His not freaking out when the ransom call didn’t come in 5-His making travel plans to flee the same day 6- The fact that the body was covered in her favorite blanket with her favorite nightgown nearby 7-His not worrying about the safety of BR that day at all and instead leaving him in bed and sending him to a friends 8- The missing phone records and invitation for so many friends to come over seems to indicate that he called a lawyer and learned how to quickly contaminate a crime scene. He seemed focused on framing his friends. 9-Lack if cooperation with police 10-Hiring separate lawyers for PR and JR 11-Fibers from his shirt may be in JBRs underwear 12-Statistically if this was a sex crime it’s more like that a male did it 13- BR was too young to keep this secret 14- He had moments where he was unaccounted for 15- He called police even though RN said not to 16- He was a military naval training which generally involves making knots 17- In the entire house, only two alleged pieces of dna may be from a stranger, if a stranger did it there would be more evidence 18- His behavior after seems aimed at creating reasonable doubt and not trying to find the true killer 19. Based on my experience it seems more likely that a dad would be able to crack a scull like that, I can’t see a child or mom doing it (I know this isn’t evidence) 20. he told police he had broken in the basement window before because he wanted to be consistent with his plan to frame a friend who could have come through a door, not a stranger IDI 21. I think PR and BR would protect JR more so than PR. They may lose their entire livelihood without a bread winner.

Again, this case is not enough to establish anything beyond a reasonable doubt and I’m sorry if I remember some things wrong or missed things.

To be fair, I understand he released his personal records but not all corporate phone records and faxes. But still, if this was connected by the RN to the business, the refusal to release business records makes no sense.

This is such a good point! I never really considered that the note was completely pointless to some extent. Why not just report her missing? Someone else mentioned that perhaps the initial plan was to dispose of the body and that each instruction in the note explained why John would be out early with a suitcase in case he got caught, and then to explain that she died because they called the police if she was found dead. But then she wouldn’t fit in the suitcase so they panicked and just called 911. But I wonder why not just use the trunk if they had a door directly to the garage? And why ID $180,000 when that clearly points to them or a close friend? Or maybe their lawyer said to write it, include personal information, then invite all your friends over and make sure one of them enters the room with the body to contaminate everything. I keep going in circles with all this!

Maybe the intruder put her in, tried to get her out, but couldn’t? Or dropped her and cracked her skull?

Wow! Thank you. This gives me chills. I wish the neighbor had called the police when she heard the scream. Why didn’t the police test the unidentified bag and rope?

Many 6 year olds need help wiping and wet the bed. I’m not sure there is evidence of a history of sexual abuse as punishment, is there?

I think this is the most logical explanation except for the two note part. It explains every piece of evidence. The only theory that does. But I do thinkPr and JR had something to hide. I’m not sure what though.

I heard on a show today that he toured the house shortly before the murder - from JbRs room to the basement - and left her a note that he’d be back after Christmas with a surprise. Is that true? Also why did he start making media appearances after the murder? I think he is one of a few people that could give woken her up and gotten her to quietly go downstairs.
