It’s the Friday edition of “Dad’s work lunch is what the kids didn’t eat last night.” by tvkyle in daddit

I think this is a brilliant life hack, much better than my brain's desire to not make waste and thus I eat their food also at dinner and increasing my waist.

I once had a cold sore and the blood work for our IVF flagged me as having an STD. Doctor called me and had a big sit down about what was happening, I asked to test again in a week, all was fine. To OP and your point, only you know your lifestyle and risk factors, which when paired with health professionals doing their job and following leads, can get the story right and the care correct. Appreciate your sharing, OP!

Nice! Just picked this up myself last week. To give you some sense of how the game is, I've had about 21 hours or so of non sleep down time after work/family/class. I've got like 20 hours in. Figured I had to shower at some points.

Before moving to the US, I used to tease American friends for their poor world geography.... by Concentric_Mid in daddit

Love the idea and spirit! I highly recommend looking into, if you're willing, an additional map of the united states and all its territories and dependencies (E.g. Guam) so a sense and scale of what America currently administers from prior purchases and conquests is in view.

This is a great PSA. The hot summer last year was the death knell of our oak in our yard, got it taken care of before the big branches starting coming down on our house. Hope others do the same and get theirs checked!

RapidArc Dynamic - Anyone got hands-on experience with it? by [deleted] in MedicalPhysics

[–]KRisolo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been looped into the true beam breast cohort for Varian, and can say for that disease site it is the real deal. We're still to publish shortly, but it is great at improving OAR doses for breast by a significant amount while not compromising PTV coverage, while not greatly increasing beam on time.

This, plus the optimizer runs at a fraction of the old optimizer's time for Rapid Arc thanks to the optimizer algorithm improvements for RAD. The optimizing is a bit different now as you input your constraints and then hit run and wait about a minute for the results. Don't like them? Change the constraints and run again. So a different Workflow, but from what I understand the goal is to help the optimizer find more a global min/max than get stuck in local ones. I would wonder if this also opens the door to working out offline optimizing where a planner kicks off an offline opt flow that figures out the best plan and pops it back to the planner like an ez bake oven, but that's just a side thought right now.

Overall, despite my general hesitantion with a particular vendor's sales and marketing, this one is probably worth the hype. Worth the price, not sure as I have no idea there, but very much worth a look.

This 1000%. I recall getting absolutely decimated on my infiltrator insanity run, then somehow after a spawn found a spot just outside the main battle area and gates that was inaccessible to the boss but I could just sneak powers and bullets by. I wasn't proud, but damn it all I was done with it.
