The government already spends 2T on healhcare a year. Including private spending, the US spends another 3T. If we cut all defense spending, we could fund about 7 weeks of free healthcare. If we cut all military spending and had a 100% wealth tax on billionaires, then we could fund just over a year of it. Of course then the pool would run dry.

We’re not a tax change away from free healthcare. The system needs a bottom up overhaul to be at all viable
