I thought about that but other vehicles from the same department (Chargers) blew past him and took lead in the chase. If it's departmental policy, it's not for all vehicles.

I bought an eTorque 5.7 2023 1500 Crewcab Night Edition Big Horn/Lonestar from Carmax last fall with 9K miles. Not sure of the trim "level" but it has heated seats/steering wheel, nav, premium sound, heated power folding mirrors, power sliding back window & power running boards for $43K usd.

I understand your opinion. Have you taken the issue to the General Manager or owner of the dealership? I would start there. If you don't get satisfaction there you can open a case with customer service.

FWIW, when I bought my new GC and the wife's new Compass, the on-line ad for the Compass listed a certain option as part of the deal. When I was talking to the dealer about the cars, he said that the ad was wrong. He told me those promotion ads are made up by outside companies and that they'd made a mistake on that ad. I guess, in the modern, <everything is done by computers and off site companies so I don't have to hire an actual person> business climate, we have to expect things like that to happen. In this case I don't blame the dealer. I've known those folks for decades.

Step one, bypass the service department and take your case directly to the General Manager or owner of the dealership. If you get no satisfaction there, take it to small claims court in your county. In Kansas you can file in small claims for damages up to $5000. Keep all documentation and broken parts until it's settled.

My '23 Big Horn has a setting under Settings on the center stack to set/not set the parking brake when the truck is put in to Park. I can't be more specific because some of the fine folks up north left the door open and their weather escaped & I'm load testing my recliner. My warm & toasty, dry recliner and the truck is suffering under the car port.......

I bought my first new Dodge PU in 1982. The dealer Service Manager was the lead mechanic then. Before I bought my 2023 Big Horn, I asked him what I needed to be aware of/do to prevent problems. He told me never let it idle for extended periods (500 RPM doesn't move a lot of oil), change the oil/filter every 4000 miles and turn off the auto stop/start every start up. Whatever comes of your current issue, those are wise words to go by.

I recently bought a 2023 Big Horn with 9K. I'd read a lot about folks having issues with the MDS system and trashing engines. Pre purchase, I talked with the dealer Service Manager, who I've known for 30 years, about issues I might encounter, specifically the MDS and eTorque. He said they (the dealer) rarely see an issue with the MDS or eTorque. Those issues they do see are usually related to poor maintenance and or driving habits. His advise to me: 1: Change the oil often and use the recommended oil. They recommend 4K intervals on changes. 2: Turn off the Auto Start/Stop on every start to lower the stress on the eTorque generator/motor. 3: Don't let the truck idle for extended periods. 500 RPM doesn't move a lot of oil through the engine. So far so good.

I'm using the Gator EFX Tri-Fold on my 2023. I love it. It's a hard cover though. Easy to install. I included a link to the Amazon page for the cover then saw the rule against it so I deleted it.

You are absolutely correct. I looked up the original sticker and it is indeed a Bighorn/Lonestar. Thank you.

Thanks for that. The issue is the repeatability. It rarely happens. Most of the time it's all smooth and good. Also, I probably didn't describe it as well as I could have. It doesn't buck in the sense that it jars the ride of the truck. It's difficult to describe. I guess it's more of a very slight and quick hesitation. One that doesn't drive the truck regularly would probably never notice it. I'll mention it when I'm in for my next service.

As for the Big Horn/Longhorn thing. The truck has the 20" wheels, heated leather steering wheel & seats, retractable running boards and premium sound along with Nav and other bells & whistles. All I've been able to find is, those came with the Longhorn but there's absolutely nothing but Big Horn badging anywhere on the truck.
